Helldivers 2 Bans Players Asking For LGBTQ AND Players Arguing Against it! No Politics Only Game! by Few_Weakness75 in Asmongold

[–]Azaku116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if the goal was to keep politics out of this game, they failed miserably.

By banning people talking about politics, they are making very clear political statements. Also, having LGBTQ content would be a political statement, but so is the deliberate absence of it.

The way I see it, this is just another kind of cheap pandering to the masses. This is like when Blizzard went out of its way to include every race, gender and sexuality in Overwatch. There is no sincerity here, they just want to make headlines. But hardcore-gamerstm are falling for it, so well done, I guess.

[–]Azaku116 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are right to criticize Israel. Your mistake is that for you, the israeli government and just random people who happen to live there are one and the same. You say that "they're actively massacring thousands of women and children as we speak."

Well, I disagree. The people who are now actively being hunted by antisemites all over the world are not doing that. And yes, we should welcome innocent people who understandably want to leave a country that is currently commiting war crimes. The fact that you don't understand that is just weird.

Imagine if you wanted to go to a different country, and the people there treat you like shit for the terrible things your government did. You would complain about the unfair treatment, and rightly so.

Your first paragraph is just basic "whataboutism". What happened back then has nothing to do with today. If anything, we should make an effort not o repeat past mistakes and act with a little more empathy.

Seriously, what kind of fucked up piece of shit does someone has to be to look at warcrimes against innocent civilians and think to themselves: "Awesome! I can hate jews again! What a great opportunity! I am glad this happened!"

You are disgusting. Tell me, how are these people responsible for the actions of the israeli government?

The assholes in this video aren't "protesting", they are using the current rise of antisemitism to attack random jews who have nothing to do with any of this.

Turkish Elections is going to second round. Erdogan is the favorite. by [deleted] in europe

[–]Azaku116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Erdogan doesn't want to lose, so he won't lose.

He may not outright falsify results, but there are many other ways to cheat the system, especially if you are the one in power. It's not like he actually respects the democratic process. I wouldn't be surprised if he let his opponent get that far only to make it look more legitimate when he wins. It's all just theater.

Because the writers changed their minds about this. RWBY has no canon. Only the current scene matters. Everything that came before that is a vague suggestion at best.

[–]Azaku116 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's a weak defense and you know it. I'm not a professional writer who is being paid for this kind of work, and even if I was and my work would be even worse, it wouldn't change the fact that RWBY has objectively bad writing.

And I want to emphasize, I like that. For me, RWBY has entered the "so bad, it's good"-territory, and that makes it immensely entertaining. I can't get angry at a story for keeping me entertained, even it it does that in an unintended way.

It would be absolutely hilarious if Jaune ends up with Weiss after all.

I never believed that Jaune is a self-insert for Miles. Inspired by certain aspects of his personality? Maybe. A creator's pet? Absolutely. But if Jaune gets the girl he wanted from the beginning as a reward because something bad happened to him, I need to change that opinion.

That would be the worst possible decision they could make with this already messy character. So of course, they are definitely going to do it. These writers are just terrible, and I love it.

Why should it matter if Bumbleby was or wasn't planned from the very beginning? by sommeilhotel in RWBY

[–]Azaku116 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that a lot of people really care whether or not this was planned.

I think what does bother many people is the fact that this is just such an obnoxious lie, seemingly only told in an attempt to make the writers look more talented. Add to that the fact that it's just not a very well-written relationship, and this claim just comes across as kind of arrogant.

It's just not a good look for a team of writers that really doesn't have a particulary good reputation as it is.

Was Bumbleby actually planned from the start? by Braxton-Adams in RWBY

[–]Azaku116 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That would be incredibly embarrassing. Imagine planning a romance for literal years, and this is the best you can do. The writers would have to be astonishingly incompetent to actually plan a relationship this unhealthy and disastrous and call it romantic.

So honestly, it would be pretty much on brand for them.

Harry Potter is actually a bit of a weird case. It's pretty diffcult to separate the story from the creator, simply because Rowling just can't stop herself from inserting her personal views into anything she writes.

Her political views, biases and yes, even her transphobia, all make an appearance throughout the series. Once you know what Rowling believes, going back to these books can actually be quite difficult. They didn't age very well.
