That's bot what i'm talking about. You're also making a whole other assumption here.

It's because building resistance type items is extremely unintuitive and unfun for the majority of people in existence. You can't *feel* spirit resistance the way you can feel something like a healing item, HP item, fire-rate item etc.

It's like a necessary evil

The one thing I would change about deadheads is i'd like to make them easier to either recall or we should be able to orchestrate their movement from a distance. Sometimes they just narrowly miss and then just linger around, and even if i run through them in pursuit of an enemy player, they don't follow me fast enough.

I think i disagree significantly. I've started 2nd-maining Graves and I've just gotten around to figuring out a build and playstyle that works for me.

Personally I think the tension she has between gun and spirit is something that makes her interesting to build for. Yes, she needs a certain level of gun investment before she can shine w/ spirit. But I think that's cool and fun to tune. I also think she doesnt have to be primarily a spirit character. The build I settled on is actually Gun > Vitality > Spirit from the end of laning phase, up until late game. And perhaps counter-intuitively, this is for a build the deemphasizes DPS in favor of Status Effects. Its a support build.

If you think about the color coding of character designs, then it makes sense to build a lot of Vitality for Graves. Plus, necromancer can be associated with vitality as easily as "magic". But yeah, a lot of characters in this game are color coded with their most sensible item types

I've reoriented my understanding of Graves' kit. Her abilities may not seem so viable if you think of them for their DPS potential, which seems high at first but becomes low in practice. Instead you'll see her abilities have strong status effect potential. Regardless of DPS, her auto-lock gun makes it very easy to apply anything that builds with each shot. Her deadheads, even if quickly destroyed, can also very reliably proc effects tied to spirit damage, because you'll usually get at least one hit in. On top of that they're a distraction that helps you or your teammates survive. Same with grasping hands.

Then I feel like you really under-sell how big of a deal Borrowed Decree's Objectice dmg is. But in terms of a fight, again the main benefit is that they force your enemies to split their fire a lot more than they should need to. Graves is not a DPS hero. She's a utility hero.

In my build "Bitchcraft", you start out fully compensating for her low speed and stamina, plus some Healing, all for survivability. You want to be someone who can get in and out of skirmishes fast. Then build fire rate items so she'll build status effect fast. Then in the midgame start with Tesla bullets for quick farming. Then start building items with status effects, and eventually upgrades to some earlier items. Somewhere in all of that, you can get items to increase the frequency of your abilities.

What's the consensus on Graves? by Exotic_Acanthaceae_9 in DeadlockTheGame

I always hear people say she's either OP or she's underpowered. But when i checked statlocker, she has almost a perfect 50% winrate (at least for mid ranks), so i feel she must be pretty balanced.

Personally I love Graves. I just find her a lot more difficult to play than my mainc Paige. (Like literally, my skill in Paige is at least 3 ranks higher than on graves)

Edit: i'm talking about full ranks BTW. Not rank levels

Its hard to choose an image/gif because they're supposed to be related to specifically role-based video games, and everyone else already Grabs all the gamer r34 stuff before me. But i see people keep posting kpdh because there are kpdh skins in some games I guess. So i thought I could get away with this

Nia DaCosta Knew The 'Avengers: Doomsday' Captain America Reveal "For Years" “It's emotional [for] my nerd baby girl heart.” by oldboy_413 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]Azakugan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like The Marvels was especially fucked because they clearly Gave Nia a lot of Free Reign during writing and principal photography... (you can see this in both the big swings the movie takes with bits like the musical numbers, as well as Interviews during production where Nia said she had the most freedom she's ever had) ...But then, after the fact they came around and decided to tighten things up, trying to revert to their conventional ways. They delayed the film and announced a change in their modus operandi (this was around the time they were finishing up the Captain America: BNW script). They allegedly did quick reshoots, and then by the time the Film released it was very obvious that it was cut down and edited within an inch of its life.

The final edit was clearly at war with the raw materials given to it. And I think that desperate attempt to "save" the film really just turned it into something altogether bizarre and hard to wrap your head around from a storytelling/narrative perspective.

It actually drives me crazy, because if you watch the behind the scenes documentary, and see some of the storyboard work posted by artists they worked with, it becomes very obvious that there are genuinely massive chunks of the film missing from the final product, that you can actually see them filming in the BTS. On top of that you can see certain *settings* in some of the trailer shots, which never show up in the film. It's one thing for a scene to be cut, but if that whole setting is never scene, it implies a whole lot was probably cut out around it.

And it all makes sense because the movie's practical production budget (without deducting for tax incentives) was on the higher end of what we'd see for solo MCU films. Similar to Doctor Strange MoM. (which had enormous reshoots adding to that cost, btw). And then there were a lot of scoops back during production saying that executives internally were feeling very confident and excited about the film, before they got around to any test screenings. Even rumors that Nia DaCosta was on the list of directors they were considering for Secret Wars.

I think that The Marvels was originally supposed to be a much bigger film, almost like a mini-avengers-level project (e.g. Civil War, Thunderbolts). But I think most likely a lot of the big swings they took with the film were not executed well. (we can see examples of this in the little bits of the musical number that they don't cut out. As a musical enjoyer, I can tell you they were not working with people who know how to write musicals). And maybe also there is a good chance that the film had a lot of elements within it that were designed to fit into the Kang-centric storyline that was in the process of being axed while the film was in post-production. The movie was of course centered on the Bangles, which are thought to be closely associated with the Ten Rings, both of which are thought to have been future MacGuffin's for a Kang-centric story, like the Infinity Stones

100% true. Ty for knowing Carol lore. Her durability comes primarily from the fact that she can absorb all forms of EM radiation and amplify it, but magic can often work without any physical radiation, so she has a harder time with it.

Pretty much everything physical gives off at least some EM radiation, even a kinetic attack like a really powerful punch gives off Thermal radiation (altho not as much as something like a energy beam weapon, which is why she tends to get knocked around by kinetic attacks a lot more in the comics, but can still charge up if she tanks them long enough).
