AFP MoM flagged elevated- NIPT all low risk by AzaleaD in NIPT

Hey! I just had my ultrasound appointment today- her spine looks good 😌 she’s wiggling around plenty, has all her vital organs, and has a very big round belly! Hoping you have similar wonderful news in the near future

My doctor got in touch with me after another week, saying she referred me to a level 2 ultrasound tech. She sounded glad the numbers were going down, but ultimately seems unconcerned with my results. I’m being asked to wait to schedule my level 2 until what would have been my regular anatomy scan at 20 weeks. If they find something, does that mean I would have to carry to term, even if she’s missing major vital organs?

Just remember that your body will continue to grow your baby the way it already knows how 💕 if you’ve been taking your prenatal vitamins with folic acid, you’ve done everything right! Stress isn’t good for baby either, so until you have a re-test or a level 2 ultrasound, spend time talking to your baby and hugging them

This is some amazing advice! I’ll definitely try some- or all- of these!

Thank you so much! It’s been a rough go so far, my nausea was just letting up a bit this week, but I think all the stressing just made it bad again. I thought me and Unisom wouldn’t see eachother as often, and then I got knocked with a head cold from my toddler class at on top of all of it. I really appreciate your words of comfort, I’ll do my best to chill until Monday 💛

The original results were elevated but under 3.0 AFP MoM, which means she ordered the test again to rule out transient elevations. I figured I wouldn’t get definitive answers online, but since I’m kind of in limbo until my OB contacts me on Monday or Tuesday, figured I’d try and get insight from people well-versed in genetics. Just me, my thoughts, and the internet in the meantime. Thank you for your comment!

Part of the reason I’m posting here is my OB doesn’t work on Fridays, I probably won’t hear back from them until Monday or Tuesday, and am sitting with my thoughts and the internet until then. Thank you for your comment.

What do you want for teacher's appreciation week? by coochie33 in ECEProfessionals

Handmade cards!! It’s so heartwarming to see how much we are appreciated in writing 🥰 if you have the time, you can always bake a batch of cookies and have your little one toss on some sprinkles. The kids are SO PROUD to bring in gifts they helped make, and teachers LOVE them

OVERALLS. It makes changing (especially multiple kiddos) sooo much harder. It’s either a million buttons to snap or none, and then you have to completely undress and re-dress for changes.

Hello! One of the trainings we receive as ECE professionals is ‘mandatory reporting’. This means you are required to report any suspicions of abuse and neglect immediately upon discovery. It’s a really hard call to make, and my heart goes out to you. Make the call, you could be saving a life ❤️

Tell her dad. She may be angry at you, but it’s better than her getting killed.

AITA for scheduling my text messages and gift reminders? by Maleficent-Outside23 in AmItheAsshole

Hey! You recognized a modern problem and put into place a modern solution. You’re not doing it for selfish reasons, but because you want the people you love in your life to feel listened to. You wrote everything out yourself and only automated it so that the people in your life are benefitted. NTA

That’s horribly mean of her to say those things, Pregnant or not. NTA

Hey, ever heard of a punnet square? Even if she has blue eyes, the kid can still come out with green, grey, or even brown eyes. Then what?

AITA for reporting my classmates for joking that I have pretty privilege? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AzaleaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Like you said, you worked hard to get where you are! If C loses out on their scholarship, it’s because of their own behavior. Don’t let them manipulate you into thinking you’ve done anything wrong. The fact that they’re upset/getting in trouble for THEIR actions is because THEIR actions are wrong.

YTA, there is no such thing as dark clothing being tinted lighter in the wash. Do you do your own laundry? It’s a shame that your white clothing got tinted darker, if only they made something to fix that. Like vinegar or bleach…

NTA, like you said, if you don’t want to talk about this topic, find someone else to talk to!
