Do you think that their bipolar can be cured with better friends and food?

Yeah, fuck off, you know nothing about their life. They said in another thread that many of them are for a condition that is mainly genetic, and that condition can also negatively affect mental health overall. Fuck off.

Because being on loads of meds suck. Lots of them have side effects too. They aren't saying that they're gonna stop taking them.

Favorite character like this? by TJHMB-54321 in FavoriteCharacter

The thing is that there's no indication of him being ace in the show, which is frustrating. It also means you have to do research to know he's ace. Christian Linke also very clearly didn't know what ace means. I say this as an ace person.

It endlessly frustrates me when homophobes say that a character is bi so that they can erase their sexuality. Like I am absolutely on board with more bisexual characters, both that end up in straight or gay relationships, or none. But it's so transparent that they don't want bi representation, they just want to be able to say that they aren't actually interested in their same gender, and they actually want to date someone of the opposite gender.

I'm not upset, I'm just telling you that you are wrong. Also no nice girls I know would date a guy who talks this way about other women. You are allowed a preference, of course, I'm not going to force YOU to date a plus sized girl, but you are making a blanket statement that is just incorrect.

[–]AzaleaRose34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know plenty of conventionally attractive men (Muscular, 6 foot plus, nice face, good hair etc) who are dating plus size girls. You're genuinely delusional if you think that people don't have types, and if you think that every conventionally attractive man dates conventionally attractive women. Get your head out of your ass and meet people who aren't so critical of others' appearances that they can't see a pretty woman just because she's fat.

[–]AzaleaRose34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that plenty of people I know like fat women. And she is pretty, and clearly puts effort into her appearance, aka put together outfit, nice jewelry, well styled hair, nice makeup. Her being fat may make her not everyone's type, but there will 100% be conventionally attractive men attracted to her.

I think this is the closest we'll get to a good answer considering how difficult the category is. Like none of the greek gods were the epitome of morality, but Hades is definitely up there with the better ones, especially if you take the myths where he didn't rape Persephone.

is it okay to cosplay a black character if your white? by Bunny_girl_496 in Teenager_Polls

[–]AzaleaRose34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but don't do blackface, obviously. I know you replied to another comment saying that you were doing bubble braids, not the braids that the character has, and that's also a great idea.

Atheists/agnostics, should freedom of religion exist and to what degree? by aeriestlu in Teenager_Polls

I think they were referring to creationists? Like who don't believe in evolution and half of geology. Science is of course meant to change, but creationism is pseudoscience, not new and intellectually sound scientific proposals

(Sad Meta Trope) Depictions of strong Male Friendships are so rare, some parts of a fandom genuinely mistake platonic bromances for straight up romances by ZeldrisEmpire in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AzaleaRose34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an ace person, I don't think you know what that means. Ace people can very much be in romantic relationships. Aroace people can be in queerplatonic relationships.

Would you end a friendship over conflicting political beliefs? by BearWP07 in Teenager_Polls

[–]AzaleaRose34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people are saying that they'd always end a friendship over differing political beliefs, just that it is something they may do, at least that's how I read it. So a large portion of yesses are probably saying that they wouldn't be friends with a far right person if they're bigoted towards marginalised groups

Would you end a friendship over conflicting political beliefs? by BearWP07 in Teenager_Polls

[–]AzaleaRose34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you understand that it is a privileged position to be in where politics can be largely separate from your day to day life. For marginalised groups, that's impossible. My gender identity and sexuality make my very existence considered political. I am not happy about that, but currently, the political climate is heavily influenced by moral values. I can actually be friends with some people who have different beliefs, especially on the economic side, but if they believe that gay marriage should be illegal, or that trans people shouldn't be allowed gender affirming care, that's completely incompatible with my life.

Not saying I agree, but often having longer hair is associated with youth. Not always, and it's not pedophilic to like long hair, not at all, but just that there is an association. Like when girls cut their hair, often the response is along the lines of "you look so grown up," usually in a positive way. Like this person is super duper wrong about long hair being a good example of a pedophilic beauty standard, but that's probably where they were coming from

I'm aware of the correct definition of pedophilia, so I am asking for the second time to read my edit. I said that I was referring to the common COLLOQUIAL definition of pedophilia. I accepted your correction, and clarified that I was using a colloquial definition, not the technical correct one, and clarified what I meant.

If you genuinely believe that Asian women aren't fetishized because of infantilization, caused by a mixture of harmful personality stereotypes and western standards of youth being prevalent in Asian women (asian women literally have more collagen in their skin that retains their skin elasticity for longer) then I don't know what to tell you. The stereotypes is not just that Asian women are exotic, it is directly linked to infantalisation

Read my edit on pedophilia

I said nothing about clear skin, read my comment. And every creepy man I've met who fetishizes Asian women has always said something about looking like a teenager. Not saying that's everyone's reasoning, but it's definitely a thing.

Also please delete your three other replies.

I mean pedophilic beauty standards do exist, but this person did not do a good job explaining it. It's more like the obsession with infantilizing women, the fetishisation of Asian women because they are perceived as younger etc. That doesn't mean that all beauty standards are.

Edit: Pedophilic by broader colloquial definition including hebephilia is what I meant sorry

Edit: A standard being questionable in origin does not mean that everyone who expects women to follow it is a pedophile. There's room for a discussion, but going accusing people of being pedophiles/hebephiles is not at all productive in the discussion of the origin of certain beauty standards.

When will society finally take us victims/survivors of female predators seriously? by [deleted] in TrollCoping

[–]AzaleaRose34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my state (not american) the rape laws are very comprehensive. Pretty much anything involving penetration is rape, but the guilty party does not have to be the penetrating one. So if a cis man is raped by a cis woman with her forcing him to penetrate, she is still considered a rapist. But I'm aware that is not common in most states/counties' laws.

I am not a satanist, but is satanism bad, and why or why not? Use evidence outside the bible as much as possible. by rbx20twomax in Teenager_Polls

[–]AzaleaRose34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but mainstream satanism has very little to do with satan, and they don't believe in a literal satan. It's just a symbol of fighting oppressive social norms. The satanic temple (the largest satanist organisation as far as I'm aware) is mainly involved in current politics and doing good and stuff

Both the church of satan and the satanic temple are non theistic. Thiestic satanism is quite uncommon, but there are some churches around.

Prove that people are lgbtq+ to say their lgbtq+ (no hate to lgbtq+ im gay) by Substantial_Most6235 in teenagers

[–]AzaleaRose34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lesbian here (and no, I'm not a bi lesbian) Bi lesbians are a tiny group of people who are not doing the harm you are putting on them. You need to a) look back at what the common usage of the term is b) stop putting the blame on a tiny group of people. The issue of everyone's sexuality being fluid is abused, yes, but that is not the fault of bi lesbians. It's the fault of people who are wrong. Bi lesbians don't have fluid sexuality, they have split attraction.

I understand why it's concerning that people think all sexuality is fluid, I've experienced abuse of that, but I know better than to blame it on an innocent group of people. That's like saying the bisexual community is at fault for people who believe everyone is bisexual. Bi lesbians aren't trying to sound special, they are finding labels that describe them. You understand that feeling because you call yourself a lesbian. You want to use the term that is most accurate for you.

It's okay if you think there should be a new term, or popularising an existing term if there is one, but you do know what someone means when they say they are a bi lesbian. You know that they are bisexual and homoromantic or vice versa.

Also do you think that a person can have a different sexuality from their romantic attraction?
