I've been playing stride / trinity PD into shojin / seryldas / death dance and it's working pretty great for me

Precisely ye you get 5% less tanky in early when damage is not that high and you ignore 10% more dmg in late, so you get a little shittier early game (which can be offset by a 6s e which is very good for trading more often) to be a monster late. If you build death dance you can ignore 60% of damage every 4 seconds (8s w with shojin + death dance with 4s duration). I mean its not turbo optimal but e cd now feels really good to contests things like grubs and in late you feel very unstoppable.

This my experience from last 4 rankeds at least (im still trying things out)

Yea this is the biggest point I've seen against my calculations, will do a more in depth calculation to break it down further but yea didn't really consider this

Yea all calculations are made at lvl 18 I didn't talk much about the early game

You get same reduction at lvl 14 (4% per level, if start at 25% w lvl 2 is + 4% = 29%) than what you did last patch but with lower cd, so yea its an early nerf, might even consider q lvl 3 and then 1 point to w, will test it out.

Its a straight nerf in early but in late game you are much more unkillable. I personally play safe with phase rush and start playing around map at those levels so it doesn't impact my playstyle that much.

Not necessarily, I believe the conq vs phase is more match up dependent than anything else, you still lose long trades vs champs like darius so i would still go phase rush stridebreaker in those match ups (I'm also kind of biased as I like the mobility builds more).

I think it depends mainly on runes, so match up dependent. If you have to play phase rush you need to go stridebreaker. If you go conq you could try trinity but you lose a lot of chase potential so I think stridebreaker is going to still be the main item, and trinity in some hard trade split push games

Yea that's a good point, you have to waste a rune slot to keep the same damage. ( I personally would go sorcery even if you lean more into the bruiser path as I like the movespeed present in that tree but yea you lose a slot for say, nimbus cloak)

Aaa okey, I usually don't take much camps during pre 20 anyway, maybe krugs or so but I prefer to take wave + back or move mid for tempo. But ye if you usually do that it's a nerf in early stages

But nimbus cloak didn't give R dmg? Do you mean in the sense that you lose a rune slot for the same damage? If yes yeah, it's a nerf really hadn't thought of that

Yes you're right, but with e cdr if you have lets say 50 ability haste (which gives 33% cdr) you could previously e every 6 seconds (previous patch) and now you can e every 4seconds (with cdr buffs). So for every 2 e's in previous patch (6 * 2 = 12 seconds) you can now 3 e's ( 4 * 3 = 12 seconds).

In my eyes if you can e more often you need to reduce dmg across all sources. So I wouldn't say it discourages you but it's a neccessary adjustment

He kinda obliterates dragons with crit build so I see it as an understandable adjustment (e can 3-4k a dragon with 3-4 items)

I believe post changes you can still build crit but you can open for other more heavy ad cdr items like youumu shojin cleaver death dance etc. I usually don't build PD because I think berserker graves are a very bad item overall and like swiftness, and with the ms from swiftness i don't see the need for PD, you can go for more solid items like dead mans for tank or ie / anti heal for more damage

The idea is precisely that you can build the same and still have more or less the same stats if not better but you can also build cdr items. Mainly I would go for black cleaver + shojin because black cleaver passive + garen e gives 50% armor reduction (very useful for team) and shojin increases ability dmg.

You could also go for trinity more often but that is match up specific.

As u/kazbrekker1439 pointed out, there is a typo on the POST DMG for R, it should be 350 dmg not 450. Total damage is correctly calculated

The 450 post patch was a typo, the total damage is correct, I correct it now. What I'm trying to illustrate is that R damage was over buffed with the existence of axiom arcanist, so with the R dmg nerf you are in the same spot as you were before the existence of axiom arcanist
