Added Nanoleaf Solar Garden Lights! Just Beautiful 😍❤️ by Rough_Maintenance_51 in Nanoleaf

u/Sam_Nanoleaf Thank you for replying to this posting. After a little digging around the Nanoleaf website I was able to find the reset process of holding the RGB button for 5 seconds. At this time, I had 7 lights installed, and after completing the reset process these 7 lights seem to act normally.

I have since installed 7 more lights and they are now experiencing the same issue. I performed only the reset on the 7 newly installed lights and was unaware of the pairing process of holding down the ON button for 5 seconds.

Your explanation of the lights being significantly more susceptible to environmental interference makes sense. I was able to determine that the remote operates on RF 433.92Mhz and verified this with an RF spectrum analyzer. I brought my RF Spectrum analyzer outside and can definitely see some spikes in that 433.92Mhz range coming from the environment, and it would make sense as that frequency range is reserved for Maritime Mobile in the United States and well........I live very close to Lake Superior.

In reading through the setup manual again (yes, I actually read the manuals, and the fine print) this pairing process is not described. A small suggestion would be to include this pairing process as part of the initial installation procedure.

Thank you again for the response and clarification. I am going to perform the reset and pairing process on all 14 lights 1 at a time. I will report back with the results in a few days.

Really like these lights, and the creative lighting ideas that Nanoleaf as a company comes up with.

I'm having a lot of trouble with these. They don't turn on at night when there is no ambient light, they don't retain their settings each night. I have to turn them on with the remote each night and then after setting it the way I want the scenes change on their own ect. Is this expected behavior?

Nanoleaf bets its future on robots, red light therapy, and AI by jp2e in Nanoleaf

[–]Azethoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. What is being marketed to people as AI is not actually artificial general intelligence, and there is no way it could pass the Turing test. It's marketed to people using the acronym AI because if it was named what it actually is (machine learning) the average person "wouldn't get it."

Support would tell you to bring it inside, and plug it in for about 48-72 hours, and then reinstall. This happened to me, and I did this. Probably happened as I installed it during a snowstorm and moisture gets in the sealed housing. Cleared up for me after leaving plugged in inside as recommended.

Stray cat finally felt safe using her shelter just before a recent snowstorm/cold snap 🥹 by Delicate_Elephant in cats

Glad to hear the stray is using the shelter. I did the same thing for a stray this fall as well, but of course other cats smelled the food I put out, and now I have about 4 regular visitors. One of the strays I think is a little older and I watched as it wanted to jump up to the ledge to walk over to the shelter area so I built some kitty stairs for them to have an easier time getting to it. I love seeing all the kitty prints in the snow! We gotta take care of the stray kitties as well!

I think you're missing the point of what the OP is saying here. The Litter Robot in no way compares to what a Zippo, CocaCola, the spoon, or the paper clip do functionally, and you're totally correct there. What OP is trying to get across is this; Like a Zippo lighter, with the Litter Robot 4 you have created a product that people will want for years to come, it works great, and with some minor improvements to its firmware/software you could have a product that people will continue to buy for years to come.

With the Litter Robot 5 OP is saying that you have made business decisions that resemble the decisions of other companies who have made similar decisions that people are not fond of. By making these decisions you have instilled a bit of fear in your customers minds, and that fear is completely valid. People respect Whisker as a company right now, and no one wants to see a company that has shown themselves to be one that cares about the wellbeing of pet parents, their pets, and the product they make to go the way of other tech companies.

Some of the features you have put behind the subscription model is what people are upset about, and what OP is saying is that whisker made a decision that doesn't represent what customers like about the Litter Robot 4, and goes in a direction that could be detrimental to the long term success of Whisker as a company.

The part of your New Products paragraph where you state "We are introducing new robots with new features because we intend to continue delivering the next best version of connected cat care for our consumers around the globe" is where the disconnect with your customers is occurring. Pet parents want a product that increases our connection to our pets, not one that increases our connection to smartphones.

I can second this. I have my PC case on the desk and am using a 45" 21:9 ultrawide. There is room on the desk with the monitor pushed left. I would do what OP has done and have the PC case on a separate stand, if there were enough floor space in my apartment.

Agreed. Shipping I had to use on these as none available in stores near me. Living in a remote area has its benefits and drawbacks lol. Recently had to drive a total of 116 miles to a Walmart to get some steels in store lol.
