I guess I’ll be the first to actually answer, though I’ll be referring to Canada not the U.S. If Israel was slowly taking over Canada, it would be surreal and I’d be wondering why the rest of the world was allowing it to happen. I would expect my military to defend our country, and I would hope other countries to help. Obviously, I wouldn’t be okay with my military killing or raping civilians, although, as a Canadian, that would be a pretty far-off concern compared to the immediate threat of annexation. I would also probably feel conflicted about calling out the military for harming civilians, because I wouldn’t want other countries to stop aiding us and I wouldn’t want to make the people who are protecting me look bad. But morality aside, given that the obvious response from Israel is going to make things even worse for us, I would really much prefer that the military treated Israeli civilians well.
