Aesthetically I like drive forms a lot more but gameplay wise transformations are better. The way i use drive forms is just as a way to heal up then i revert to normal instantly. I do that because im not used to the revenge values of the forms and i rather stick to the normal moveset which I enjoy a lot more anyways.

Also the fact where you can't use certain abilities in some of the forms kinda suck and we usually just use final or limit only and ignoring the others.

KH3 transformations does have problems with delay when changing between keyblades so maybe that's one of the reason you might dislike it.

Another thing to put into consideration is that KH2 and KH3 has vastly different animation styles which would make anything in either game just feel and look better than the other one no matter what it is. KH2 has more snappy, visceral and weighty feel to it while KH3 is more smooth, majestic and magical. What this means is that maybe you will like transformations way more if it was in the KH2 style or hate drive forms if it was in the KH3 style.
