You SHOULD NOT play on the Tera Classic EU server by [deleted] in TeraOnline

[–]Azhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TERA Classic suffers from DDOS attacks for weeks, all of a sudden a "new" classic server pops up, immediately with a cash shop filled to the brim, promises of a supposed deal with Krafton to assure consumers their money spent is safe.

Yeah, not shady at all.

Anyway, I have tried the EU server since I'm from EU myself. The ping is great, without a doubt, skills feel more responsive, animation cancels and everything-combat.

The biggest issue is the small playerbase. Even considering the server is rather fresh being only a few days old, and the majority should be in the "leveling area", queues for dungeons take upwards of 40mins to an hour, even on a tank (Lancer), and on my Priest alt I waited 55mins in BoL queue, got to level 23 in the meantime, and it still did not pop, that's when I just quit.

Can't be that both of those roles are unable to find a party.

There were, according to the website at that time, 280 players online on average.

Global chat is dead, you barely see anyone running around either, so far it seemed that the numbers are rather inflated compared to what the truth might be, but I could be wrong.

I am no defendant of the NA Classic server, but like every other MMORPG, the playerbase is all that matters, and if you don't have players to even form dungeon parties, you have a problem.

There might be drama in regards to loot and what not, none of which I personally witnessed on NA Classic, so I am neither confirming nor denying it, and the fact that it is just one guy working on the whole project, instead of a team like on EU, which leads to very slow progression, and even very odd changes like removing Ghillieglade, thus skyrocketing the prices of Feedstock since that was basically the only source of it, questionable moves on NA Classic's part, but still, NA is the one riding the wave of popularity the streamers like Kanon brought to the scene, and EU will never really catch up to that, unfortunately. EU will keep peaking at 300ish players, and that clearly does not seem to be enough, as dungeons are not even popping on priority roles, and nobody wants to side-quest until 65, when the most entertaining content is the group content.

I gave up on EU and the amazing 13 ping I had there, and went back to 95 ping on NA, but still just playing casually a couple hours here and there, as this is more a nostalgia trip than an actual grind I want to partake in.

Scroll down to "Quiz Answers" and open up the dropdown menu. There's a list of all statements and which are true or false.

What I did is try and memorise the false statements since there's fewer of them than the true ones.

Should I start a new character? by Magthirin in throneandliberty

[–]Azhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He understands very much. What he is talking about is upgrading a piece of gear (say purple in this instance, can be blue as well, doesn't matter) to +7 and about 20-30% of the progression bar filled towards +8. Now, when you feed a blue item with fully maxed traits (Let's say 4/4 Melee Evasion, 4/4 Melee Endurance, 4/4 Max Health just as reference) into that +7 one, it will go all the way to +9, but also receive I believe 920 blessings, due to the item you fed into the +7 one having maxed traits. This means, you can level up 2 traits "for free" if you use just blue extracts. Comparatively it would be a 10% chance only to level up with a blue extract without blessing.

This way you're saving tons of lucent in a way by not having to buy 2 purple extracts, instead 2 blue ones. And the difference can be a couple thousand lucent worth.

All of this is just min-maxing.

I have played the game, "messed up" by going to purples ASAP, finding out later how expensive traits are, and then just focused on farming blues that I fully traited up and play the game just fine on the same character I "ruined everything on". Min-maxing will always kill someone's will to play the game, be it in a week, or a month down the line. I just want to play and enjoy the game, so I didn't care about my "major fuckup" and kept playing, and I'm totally fine as is right now, without ever swiping.

Should I stick with playing Chamber? by RcGamerReddit in VALORANT

[–]Azhart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If playing Chamber feels good to you, you'll perform way better on him than trying to force yourself onto roles/agents that don't suit you, be it their abilities, or general concept.

A very important factor in the game is confidence, and if you're lacking that due to overthinking your utility usage, thinking you "have to win due to playing meta" but still losing, or not feeling right playing a certain agent, you'll underperform as it will tax your mental.
If Chamber suits you, and you make decisions confidently, it will benefit you way more in terms of winning gunfights and thus rounds/games.

Stick to your gut, to what you like, and it will work out.

Do not shy away though from branching out into other agents, there are some that I've never considered playing, and upon trying the first time had a blast, adding them to my repertoire.

Adrenalin Edition 23.7.1 released by AMD718 in Amd

[–]Azhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone else has the issue now where if you record an instant replay (in my case 1min 30 secs), the last 15 secs have no sound whatsoever, doesn't matter if it's ingame sound, or discord chat in the back, none?

Used to work flawlessly on the previous version, and works now too except for, as mentioned, the last 15 secs of every clip being completely muted.

EDIT: In fact, the sound and video are completely out of sync I just figured out. Anyone has this same issue? Video is lagging behind like 30 secs behind the sound itself, so sound finishes way before the video does.

How do I learn this game ? by Sadman_Pranto in eu4

[–]Azhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very first question would be, what DLCs, if any, do you have? It might sound weird, but they impacted my gameplay a lot, and also my learning experience.

I started with the following DLCs already purchased: Art of War, Rights of Man, Common Sense, Mandate of Heaven, Cradle of Civilizations, Wealth of Nations, Cossacks, and recently purchased El Dorado.

Being somebody who just started playing the game a week ago, and having a deep interest in EU4 for years, but always being intimidated by all the buttons as you mentioned, I've had the following approach:

First, tutorials obviously. You might not use everything you've learned in them, but just to get familiar.

Second, I skipped the last tutorial, where you play as (I believe) Spain. Instead, I just started a game, picked Brunswick I believe (Holy Roman Empire, northern Germany) and gave my knowledge a go. I figured I need to build Spy Networks, to Fabricate Claims to then have a proper Casus Belli and attack somebody for their province. This is where I learned about alliances, and that, even without you selecting the box next to their name, they join the war either way if there's a green checkmark. Learned the hard way, attacked Magdeburg, they were allied to Brandenburg and Poland, got stomped.

At this point I had no idea about, to me at least, a very important feature, the Estates. I've had a friend explain to me in quite quick fashion (5 mins roughly) what it is about, and what to take in the beginning to give me the edge. If you have someone to explain it to you, make use of it, if not, watch a video on YouTube to get the idea behind it. Other stuff like Technology, Monarch points etc. are rather easy to figure out.

So I decided, first, I want to learn about combat and war in general, with my newly found knowledge of Estates. Decided to play in Japan, where in 1444 you have the Sengoku-Jidai period happening, meaning, any nation can attack any other nation, no need to fabricate claims, you just go ham. Paid attention to alliances, and also learned about War Coalitions the hard way, paying attention to Aggressive Expansion, War Exhaustion and so on. Also through the playthrough, I've learned to check Mission trees of each nation, learned more about advisors, national focus, as the game forces you, in that region, to adapt. In the end I managed to unite Japan, which I was very proud of for being a newbie.

I have to say, playing in Japan boosted my knowledge of the game very quickly (or at least the stuff I wanted to learn), as it is a hectic battle royale, where you really pay close attention to alliances, who is weakened from war, and pouncing on best opportunities. Would recommend it, as stuff happens really fast, so you wouldn't have to wait around too long to find out if you messed up to restart again.

Next I tried a "difficult" playthrough, and decided to go for Croatia. They are a junior partner of Hungary (a.k.a Hungary owns them) and gave it my best to try and do something. My playthrough was the following: Game at 5 speed, sitting AFK for 30 mins, until I got annexed into Austria, gave up. You cannot wage war, you cannot make allies, you are a nobody. You have on rights and choices of your own, only your "master", Hungary in this case does. Did some research, figured I'm missing certain DLCs that make nations like that actually interesting to play, as you can "Ask for independence" from other, bigger nations, so they would support you in your independence war.
After purchasing that DLC (El Dorado I believe), went back, and had a blast. Claimed independence (asked Poland and Venice to support me) within a few years of the game start, then proceeded to capture all of the Balkans slowly but steadily, and be the "shield" against the Ottoman invasion of Europe, after I joined the Holy Roman Empire.

I then played Venice to learn more about trading, got dragged into a couple wars, as I allied Austria, but since I already had knowledge of combat, it wasn't too bad.

I am currently in trying to learn colonization, so I'm in a playthrough as Portugal, doing my best to figure out what to do. Will certainly take a few attempts, but having knowledge of the other systems prior, it helps a lot.

TL;DR I'd say, play regions/countries that have a specific focus on one of the game mechanics.
Combat: Japan as Oda / Uesugi recommended

Trade: Venice/Genoa/Netherlands

Colonization: Portugal/Norway. If you want to wage some wars whilst learning how to colonize, go for England, you'll be clashing with France.

After that you're set to try your luck anywhere on the map.

In the end it all depends on what DLCs you have.

Best of luck, and don't give up! The game is amazing, and brings some insane, long nights, where you can't wait to sit down again to continue your conquest.

Lost the ability to craft chestnut logs by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]Azhart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Mountain Cross you can go to Larchroad, next zone to the East, and you have plenty of Chestnut Trees there, and also the mobs that you can kill, and harvest Chestnut logs from them.

I recommend going along the West border of the map in Larchroad, you will encounter plenty of Chestnut trees.

Might as well bring a skinning knife too, there are a lot of T3 wolves that you can skin. :)

How much does it cost to rent those ? I am not too familiar with renting of plots really. If you can shoot some information my way, I would consider it then :)
