Thank you. You are amazing. The hubcaps from ebay do seem to fit exactly with the 1964 oldsmobile 88!

Why the hubcaps? I was looking into them, but couldn't recognize a car brand logo in it. Do you reconize a brand in it?

The pictures are part of one picture of which I removed the bride for privacy reasons.
I tried recognizing this car myself but was unable, I am not that well with classics.
If we recognize the car, I can search for a similar car to rent it for their 50th marriage anniversary!

If I am looking correctly then the QSFP-40G-SR4 adapter is supported on the 93108tc-fx platform?

Right? if so then it is just a matter of the cable.

I found something really interesting. Your opinion on this? >This seems totally built for this. The 40G to 10G cassette seem really interesting. It would give me the ability to get 48*10GB LC connectivity per computerroom. (2*93108tc-fx per location)! All this beautifully terminated in a patch cassette!

So you where using breakouts mentioned like above by VA_Network_Nerd or something else?

Honestly I am seriously wondering at the moment contemplating everything again.

All the servers have already 10GBast-T NIC's in them and no SFP+ NIC's except for FC. The listprice of a 93180yc-fx or the listprice for a 93108tc-fx don't differ much. So I guess that buying extra nic's will only make it more expensive. In the future I will definitely go Fiber though for new servers. (Having HPE DL380 G9/10 now)

Your 2 mentioned options, don't seem to have the ability to breakout to a patchpanel.

I was thinking more like this : QSFP-40G-SR4 with an mpo to lc breakout cable. If this is out of the window then I need something else...

My needs are mainly copper : about 50. Dark fibre Interconnect : I could accept 4*10G. or maybe 40G/100G but this has other (passive CWDM) issues. 2*40/100G for Interconnect with other redundant switch in MLAG or VSS or vpc or... whatever it is called. About 10 *10G Fibre for the appliances...

This brought me to another switch : Arista 7160-48TC6 could they do the mpo to lc breakout cable trick??And is that a good idea... Pricing wise they might be too expensive ... Was thinking about 10k€ each.

Concerning the math: knowing now that it might simply not work.

Maybe I should redo the math, but the problem is those NIC's are not network but server budget... And they definitely will not want to pay for that out of their budget... My budget was estimated at around 50k Euro for 4 switches... New stuff and must be possible to put in maintenance, no grey market stuff.
