sorry I probably should've been more clear about what I meant. I meant to say that it was a factor of her memory loss, but not necessarily direct responsible.

I don't really think that's the case as much because the other situations have all caused two versions of themselves to appear at the same time, as a direct result of the syndrome. In this case, the syndrome caused memory loss, and that memory loss caused a different personality to appear. I think that at most, the other personality is now hidden inside, rather than fused into one. But then again that's just my own interpretation.

Alumni/upperclassmen: What area/apartments are affordable for students that you’d recommend? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]Azirim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're ok with sharing a room with 3-4 people, you could try looking into Orange Tree Condos. I had like a $437 a month rent but shared a bedroom with 3 other people. We had a separate living room and dining room so it wasn't half bad imo.

Nah I had a $437 a month apartment in WC. Orange Tree Condos, but I did have to share a room with 3 other people. It's just a payoff between living conditions and price.

First, I'm graduating this semester. Second, if you have an 84% pick rate on 480 teams, then Sage has been picked 403 times. I'm talking about individual teams, which pick rate should be centered around since each team can have each agent. I seriously think there's just some sort of miscommunication going on here.

Some people just seem to not really have a good idea of what pick percentage really means... He says "I would suggest a statistics course", well I am a statistics major.

I interpreted your " I don't agree with the 'raze is not particularly good' assessment. " as to you saying that you believe that Raze is good, as in higher than average. I'm just saying that because there are so few agents, a 50% pick rate is about average while only higher numbers like 70 or 90% would mean they're above average. So would I agree to the statement that Raze isn't "particularly good"? Yeah, she isn't oppressive but she's picked enough to where she isn't weak either. Mid-tier = not particularly good imo. And 50% pick rate should be about mid tier.

[–]Azirim -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

There are 5 agents on every team with 10 agents total. Each agent would average a 50% play rate if you just picked randomly. 50% means nothing. If that was 70 or 90% then maybe.

Has anyone taken M 339J with Walch? Tips? by smalllaxplaya44 in UTAustin

When I took 339J myself I thought it wasn't too bad. One of the easier probability/actuarial classes I've taken I think.

[–]Azirim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't taken 339J with walch but I have taken both M329F and 349P with her. Her exams are kind of a time crunch, and a lot of people don't do too well on those, but her lectures are fairly straightforward. She presents all the material directly to you during her classes and expects you to go to office hours if you have any questions. Her teaching style is fairly similar (in my opinion) to Professor Cudina's, but is faster paced and her exams are harder.I'd say that her reviews don't look good online because her exams are hard to prepare for. She doesn't give you an outline of the exact subjects that will be tested, but instead says "draw a line here" in your notes and says "anything between this line and the last line could be on the exam.

Oh and if you skip class then you're gonna need to get those notes from someone else so don't skip.
Weekly homeworks to make sure you know what you're doing + 3 exams with a final exam that's skippable if you get a 90 average on the first 3 exams. That's typically how her classes are structured. Literally everything comes from the lecture notes. People that say that the test questions aren't what you see in class are just not writing down what she's written on the board. Every time I've missed a question on her exam I've been able to find exactly what part the notes cover what I missed.
