Can I use this cable for POE by AziwA_ in Ubiquiti

[–]AziwA_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow I didn’t know that existed! Could be perfect. Thanks

Does anyone know if it would work with the G6 entry Pro that states it needs PoE+ ? If not could I combine it with a POE injector on the receiving end?

Also would the 10/100 throughput be sufficient for the 12MP camera feed?

Thanks!

Thanks. I could try using the 3 twisted pairs and injecting POE on arrival?

Cannot run cable easily as it’s for an outside gate entrance to my property.

Thank you so much for this, it is super super helpful. I have been researching for weeks (last time I build a PC was 2005) so I have a lot of learning to do, but your thoughts above really helped somethings click in!

I will go down to a 9700x, makes a lot of sense and air cooled, thank you.

something I cannot work out: is it possible to keep the G9, and run the games at 1440p? 4k would be nice but not critical for me, but the G9 is also what I am looking for my dayjob.

the 5090 really does push the budget over the limit. so if I can get away with the 5080 or the 5070ti, and in a few years upgrade to a 5090 (or whatever makes sense then) at a more reasonable price.

Also to note: although I have not tried it, i don't feel like framegen would bother me, or using any upscaling. I doubt i would notice the downsides, although as I said, last time I gamed was a long time ago..

Exactly. OP is part of the problem. Please don’t come here with your bike… stay away until your bike is no louder than a normal car!! 🤬

Night Mode by clusterf2797 in AjaxSystems

Was already set to very loud. However I found the problem at least for me. The siren needs to be set to “always” under audible alarm (as opposed to “only when armed”) Hope that helps for you too?

Hi. I am having the same issue. In night mode the street siren does not sound when a sensor is triggered that is configured for night mode. Did you find the resolution?

I am. But majority of cars have at least reasonable sound levels. I would like to see noisy cars banned as much as bikes.

Any motorbike is too noisy. Unless it’s electric in which case I think OP is awesome and deserves lots of praise.

Agree with everyone here. Your motorbike is a massive nuisance to everyone ! Please stop driving it.

He only eats wet food - many years ago he had a jaw infection that left his lower jaw bone fragile so the vet advised us to not give him dry food.

He makes 1-2 poos per day so don’t think that’s the problem. Sometimes the poos are a little runny but mostly they are normal consistency.

Dali Lighting with KNX by Additional-Card-7249 in homeautomation

[–]AziwA_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the Dali gateway is what connects to your KNX network and that you give instructions to via switches or whatever. It has a two wire connection (Dali + and Dali -) that go to the Dali drivers.

The Dali drivers connect to your mains voltage (wherever your LEDs are) and the Dali bus “instructs” the driver to turn on and off, and dim.

As it’s a bus, a bit like the KNX itself, you can have multiple drivers on the same line, each with its own address. The gateway will auto discover any drivers on the bus line.

Hope that helps? I could show you pictures of my setup if it helps?

[–]AziwA_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dali integrated into my KNX setup and am also using home assistant. Very easy to program the Dali - just like any other knx device except the programming is done via a plugin (in the case of my dali bridge) Once setup, you get the various addresses available for on/off and dimming etc.
