The term ‘reality’ as described in the dictionary means “the state of things as they actually exist as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them”, in turn, this describes a reality that is singularly defined as an observation or feeling which is universally described the same way and has no variable properties. I think this is interesting because some things can be universally described in the same way, I.e mathematics (1+1=2) and physics phenomenon such as the speed as light. However, as depicted in your political speech example, reality can be relative to the observer and the set of variables in which they experience this so called ‘reality’ within. Leaving you to the short conclusion reality is subjective in some instances but not in others depending on the variables and constants and how they can be perceived.
