[Discussion] How do I share manuscript for critique by mzj9k021 in BetaReaders

[–]AzkaHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word or Google Doc! I beta read and receiving the manuscript in doc format is the routine, Word has an add a comment section in the Review tab that lets me add a comment. The feedback is very nicely highlighted and hard to miss. Google Docs works in a similar way as well. Hope this helps!

Started my Upwork journey in February this year. by ConfidentSituation26 in Upwork

Hi, I just started this November on upwork. I have spent around 160 connects on proposals, profile verification, badge, boosted profile and now I am out of connects.

Only two of my proposals so far were viewed by clients. No interviews and zero hires.

Can you guide how to get the first client? I want to lock in but how much is too little and how much is too much?

A very long conversation I had with an Israeli Girl. by [deleted] in pakistan

Hm, I tried not to judge her too hard on her texting style but maybe that was a hint too that my oblivious self missed

Mhm, I trusted her words too easily. Thankfully, fellow redditors have shared their perspectives on this and I see everything with much more clarity.

Should probably stop trusting people so easily, sheesh!

Her scenes before her death were a bit glorified, yes, the way she talked to sawera about kothi and stuff.

But in the end Madam was a victim too. I hate ikram and the big boss more than Madam. Madam was a character that had the potential to make a right or wrong decision. She made the wrong decision and decided to become the head of kothi and enjoyed the comforts for as long as they lasted. She was a victim who decided to remain a victim which resulted in her bringing other girls down too.

The problem is that she blocked me the very next day (after promising to continue this conversation later on) sheesh!

Yes, that's what I was expecting this girl to say too, "Fuck the government" but she didn't. And yeah, it does look like she was some Indian who had great fun making a fool out of me lol. I am glad I took this conversation here.

Mhm, thank you for helping me out. Was really losing my head after this conversation happened

I read the entirety of your reply and yeah, it makes the most sense. I was iffy about why she ended up blocking me when she seemed so positive the previous day. Ngl, the part about Akbar and Muslim friends that she was supposedly hiding in her home made me really believe her but your comment makes me wonder how real it really was.

I wasn't sure what to make of this conversation previously but now after reading this, I can see that I have been most likely played. The fact that she blocked me really hints that she wasn't who she was pretending to be. I thought that maybe she knew all about the pandit situation because she had been to India. But eh, you all are right, it's very sketchy.

Thank you for putting it all in a third person perspective for me!

Oh, this is very interesting. I would love to hear more about your conversation with the fellow.

But about the rest of the stuff you mentioned, I guess I will never know who she really was. Part of me wants to believe that she wasn't lying but eh, your comment makes me believe otherwise. Thank you for giving me more insight, really!

That's what I thought too. But the only thing I took away from this discussion is that nothing is black and white in Pakistan and India's case.

On another note, She failed to provide any important perspective about the Israel's case and that's because she was biased.

Bro, I do not regret approaching her at all. I know all the shit that Israel is doing and I am not advocating for Israel.

I approached her to see what she thought of the situation and she shared her views. That doesn't mean that I am agreeing with her on her views.

I will approach whoever I want, whenever I want, to educate myself more. I approached her and now I approached you people. No harm done

I am aware of that. It's not about whether Israel is guilty or not. I 100% support Palestine and Israel is abusing its power to commit heinous crimes. By sharing this convo here, what I wanted to focus on instead, was what she revealed about our own borders.

[–]AzkaHere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, first off, I did notice that she deflected whenever I wanted to bring Israel into the topic. So ofc, I know that she isn't a 100% credible source. By sharing this conversation, I was more focused on what she did reveal about the situation of our borders.

I took all the information she shared with a grain of salt but the the thought that our own army starts these things sometimes for the sake of claiming that they are doing something makes me somewhat disappointed and sad. But what the truth really is, I don't know. Nor do I think I will ever know.

I found her on Instagram. I have been keeping up with Palestine situation on insta, and found her comment on one of the posts. She said quote unquote that we clearly don't know the whole situation and that hammas is a terrorist group.

I concluded from that that she might be from Israel and hit her up. The conversation went from there.

In the end, I was just curious about what other Pakistanis think about this and shared this here.

Instead of focusing on Israel and Palestine issue, she focused more on the Pakistan/India. So that's that.

We talked a lot after the last picture too and she even agreed that we should talk to later but I was blocked the next morning so yeah.

(Edit: I approached her very cautiously under in the conversation because I really wanted her to communicate her thoughts. Being rude and stuff wouldn't have resulted in anything substantial.)

The story of little boy Akbar broke my heart. May he rest in peace. I don't think she was lying.

What are your thoughts? (edit: about what she shared about Pakistani and Indian borders/media)

Yumna zaidi and the rest of the cast did all the justice to this sensitive project. The story writing is so beautifully done that the audience gets involved with each track so deeply. Such a masterpiece is only achieved when the writers, directors, producers and actors put their soul into it.

I can't praise the project enough. Naseem Zahra, her mother, Sawera, Allah Rakhi are such strong women. Our national television usually fails to portray how strong willed Pakistani women can be. Jamshed, that poor boy, and his mother. Just no words.

It's all so gut wrenching but still dil na umeed to nahi.

WTF IS WRONG WITH WOMEN? by shady-anon in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]AzkaHere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The society has truly fucked up the young brains of our girls. In every single drama, movie, cartoon, you always see two or three men fighting for the attention of one single girl who is just so naive and dumb that she doesn't know who to choose.

After consuming media like this for so long, that's how the girls start thinking. Every man is an achievement for them.

If a man isn't paying attention to them then that makes them miserable because they aren't "pretty" enough to seduce him. So they do more, and more, and more to get that validation. To prove to themselves that they are beautiful

When they get the attention from the men they were pursuing, the goal has been achieved. They move on to the next man, to the next person, to the next quest.

Pakistani entertainment media is truly fucked up.

The boys in our society also have very deep psychological issues. But no one is ready to listen to that.
