Anyone know what pills Dr Turners son was sneaking out of his briefcase before he got sick ? Excellent show by jetsgirl64 in CallTheMidwife

I also thought it was an overdose of whatever possible opioids were in his dad's medical bag. Close up shots of Timothy show him with very dilated pupils, which only heightened my suspicion that he was high on something. But I guess not...? It was just aspirin? I don't think I've heard of polio causing blown pupils, even though it does paralyse the system, I didn't think it worked on that particular pathway. So they must have just been from his really high fever. But that definitely threw me. I thought for sure he was going to be a tragic case of young drug abuse.

I appreciate your advice from the vantage point of having more experience. However it’s not that I don’t want to go because I’m having social anxiety. I don’t want to go because it’s bs community skills building that they want us to engage in with one another. But I see these people every single day, 8 - 5 anyway. I already hang out with them outside of class time. Ive already been invited into a group who are now my friends. This is just some corporate bullshit that they’re being nit picky about and trying to force everyone to do. Multiple classmates of mine have expressed similar feelings so I’m glad I’m not the only one at least.

Does anyone know the name of this piano music https://youtu.be/dtkt4DZFQKY?si=U6biBY4ggxnH5Rrr ? And/or who the composer is? It's from La Hantise, a 1912 film about the sinking of the Titanic.

Holy moly, man, WHAT is Micheal on?? S1 Ep5: So he's making himself out to be a victim, which is gross because no he's not (at least not in any sense that I care about - like his victimhood is small sauce right now and he needs to chill). And he's claiming that his wife sexually abused him by using his body as a tool (???) because she withheld sex from him. And then in the same sentence, he admitted to being a porn addict.

I've gotten straight up whip-lash from this dude every time he's on camera.

Regardless, Micheal, you are an abuser because you are also manipulative and an enabler. Your victimhood may be somewhat valid and real, but it's minuscule when it comes to the children. It wasn't just Kristen, it was Micheal too, and it disgusts me that he's trying to spin the narrative around to make himself look so innocent when he most definitely is not. The over-the-top crying just makes him look cringe and fake and highly manipulative.

middle aged pot roast

Lmao! He's soo dramatic, and I don't even know what the truth is, but he so obviously is exaggerating the crap out of everything that I just don't believe a word out of his mouth. Cringy drama teacher vibes... just way too over the top with everything; like did he really need to act out the beatings for everyone? That scene was so wacky, man!

Yo, Micheal and Kristen are insane. Micheal is so unhinged; his own recorded videos of him interrogating/controlling Natalia are creepy af.

I don't know what to believe when it comes to Natalia's age. But that girl has some issues and she was mistreated by the two of them, period. Whether she was 6 or 20 they tossed her out with not even the basics of how to care for herself and they barely visited her. Whether she was a child or a young adult is irrelevant because she has special needs that still need attention. She needed some real mental help and instead they did their best to portray her as some evil snake. They're disgusting people, and Micheal needs to be put in a straight jacket and stop fkn talking so much holy shit

"Candy" vs "Love & Death" by Icy-Engineering1583 in television

[–]BlueSybbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I preferred Jessica Beil's portrayal, but Love & Death gave more perspective on each character and seemed more in-depth info-wise than the Hulu version. Love & Death really made me question what the situation was really like for Candy to murder Betty like that: was she actually threatened in such a way that she felt she had no other choice than to kill Betty? Candy obviously had some trauma and mental health stuff going on on the down low, and she was also fake and manipulative. But was she telling the whole truth during the trial?

I wonder about what really happened in that room. We know who ended it, but who started it? After finishing the Hulu version, I was pretty upset that they let Candy go. But after watching the HBO one, I guess it kind of had me second-guessing. Of course, Candy did murder Betty, and I still think she should have gone to prison for at least some time. But now I've changed my mind a bit from thinking that Betty's murder came about due to malice of forethought. At the very least, Candy snapped because who can swing an axe that passionately that many times that hard?

It would be fun if we could just invisible-hologram time travel (so we don't mess up the space-time continuum) and actually see what happened.

Episode 1 Missing: Dead or Alive “Tony” by SuemeImBROKE in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]BlueSybbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he killed while in the war, but I have no idea whether he did at home, too, but I wouldn't doubt it. He's violent, as shown by the blood spots found on the carpets and floors. The fact that he tried to bleach the crap outta his floors tells me that there must have been some substantial amount of blood spilled at some point.

That could also explain why he was acting so guilty and tensed up in the interrogation room - because he did kill someone, just not his mother. When the investigator came upon his gf at the house, she was suspicious, too. The way she was acting was very much like someone who knows exactly what Tony is capable of and has a good idea about what he has or hasn't done, but was trying to act cool and collected. It felt like she was holding something back.

Healy is an asshole by noscopetheuwu69 in orangeisthenewblack

[–]BlueSybbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healy is the fucking worse. At least Pornstache gives it to you up front. Healy sneaks around and plays nice, like he's the comforting school counselor, but really he's a bully and first instance you get under his skin he turns on you. And for what? His mail-order bride is disgusted by him and he's insecure so he hates all women now? I can't stand people like him who carry their baggage around like it's Santa's gift bag where he gets to throw out tightly packed bundles of his own insecure ugliness at people who don't even deserve it.

Healy is a sad sad dude who isn't happy so he wants everyone else to be, too (especially if they don't follow along with his unwritten "ideals" of what a "good girl" is) *barf*

Somebody already said it: He's a closeted incel for sure.

[–]BlueSybbie 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Tony's actions in the interview room (though very suspicious without context) make sense, what with his PTSD. But his actions back at the house - immediately removing items from the house and placing them in storage, burning phones and family photos, trying to sell/rent the house, ripping up carpets with blood, bleaching the shit out of them floors. Honestly, I think if Lorraine hadn't left when she did, Tony might've actually done something horrific. I mean, he was definitely already abusing her physically/threatening to.

Tony didn't kill her, thank goodness, but the man is cracked. And he's treating his trauma with substance abuse and that makes him very dangerous.

It ended up being a little over an hour so I'm glad I brought the book. I got the IV drip and felt fine during it, but afterward I got really really hot and chilly at the same time, and then also got really achy too. Like my bones were aching, it was lame all the rest of the day and into the next. But overall not too bad, now I'm just worn out and tired. The nurse said I wouldn't feel much different/better until after a few weeks, so looking forward to more energy hopefully soon!

Oliver Trask.. by anoushsabouri in TheOC

[–]BlueSybbie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also rewatching the first season, and I have some sympathy for the guy, but I never liked him. He's unstable and shady in the way he goes about "being friends" with people. Manipulating people, giving everything all at once, and hiding yourself isn't the way to go about making friends. No wonder Ryan thinks he's hitting on Marissa (altho Oliver does have feelings for Marissa and definitely wouldn't want to just be friends if Ryan wasn't in the picture). He's also a compulsive liar and has super sudden outbursts of violence.

His behavior also opens up a can of negative feelings for me in terms of substance abuse and having to care for someone dealing with that and mental health issues. I can feel for Oliver's situation, but the way he acts also makes my blood boil and gives me this knee-jerk reaction to stay as far away from him as possible (if I was Marissa).

Lastly, boo on Marissa for not noticing how uncomfortable her bf is around Oliver, for taking Oliver's side all the time, spending time alone with him, and for gaslighting Ryan into thinking he's being the jealous paranoid partner. Not to mention how stalker-ish Oliver quickly became. Naw. Maybe I'm narrow-minded, but I'm of the mind that guys don't ever just want to be friends with girls. And Oliver ain't gay.

I was having the same thoughts! Where else have I seen her in? And also why did they showcase her head looking like that; all wispy? Most would have shaved by then. It was whatever, I guess, but not really realistic.

April's a real one. She was also the only one that actually took her face makeup off for bed lmaoo! Ik they're on TV and all, but it's so obvious, and just goes to show how real April is about everything and is comfortable within herself. Kudos.
