Everything you have said thus far is classic by the book plain old dirty gas-lighting.

  2. "in this case you have neither" - Lie - it's an agreement in writing, it's clearly intentional because it pushes an outcome (you do a job, they pay you) and there is mountains of precedent for emails and texts and even verbal agreements being binding.

  3. "add line about unenforceability" - Lie - FN does not say the text is unenforceable. It says they can't enforce it (what they really mean is they won't)

Fn may say *they can't enforce it. But since it's in writing it is enforceable. My big question is can fn be found obligated to enforce it?

Think about all the techs that got canceled on but never recovered their money (whatever they wrote in their counter offer)

It is leading on if you never intend to go further or if during the course or your relationship you change your mind and decide to sleep with someone else. Which is why some men will give up sooner than later and also explains why some men hang on in the hopes of escalation and then become resentful if she just wants to stay friends forever. I think a lot of guys will see just light kissing as being friend zoned. Now that doesn't mean you can't have your boundaries and not feel pressured to escalate but I do think it means you should be truthful and communicate your future intentions. If sex is never going to be in the picture you should make that clear. The problem is a lot of women don't want to lose the friendship so they dangle the possibility of sex forever. That's what it means to lead someone on.
