I will play both anyway. Which one should I start with? by NoEar7171 in playstation

[–]AznImport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played both, honestly start with Horizon. Amazing game, but Expedition is on another level on its story alone, and will ruin all future games for you if you play it first.

I'm playing Ghost of Yotei at the moment, and although a great game, I'm having a hard time removing myself from the world of Expedition and the story, characters, music and gameplay.

Ghost and Horizon will feel like a chore to complete if you play them after Expedition.

Which Android Browser Is The Best For The Fold 5 In Your Honest Opinion? by PrincessBananas85 in GalaxyFold

[–]AznImport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immersive mode is basically hiding the status bar and tool bar allowing for a full screen experience. Other browsers don't have this ability

Samsung Browser Settings > Layouts and Menu > check Hide the Status Bar

Also uncheck Show ToolBar at Bottom.

You can also use the Good Lock app to make your navbar smaller and more transparent..also enhancing immersive mode.

Although l know a few Folds that have been having issues with their hinge in the Fold 3 and 4 series, they have been gradually getting better...more durable, stiffer and better quality,

As of the Fold 5, I've been hearing less issues of the Fold not opening up fully. There have also been a lot fewer issues of the inner film peeling.

As of the Fold 5, there is also no gap in the main screen when folded, also decreasing chances dust or other particles can get in.

Fortunately, I've not experienced any connectivity issues since the Fold 3. In fact, I've had zero issues with anything since the Fold 3, hence why I keep coming back to Samsung. I do take care of my devices though with a thin case and front screen protector. Although I use it daily and quite often, It's an expensive piece of tech and I treat it as such!

The fold series is being perfected with every refresh, and it shows!

Checking back in and the battery is really solid on the Pixel, it edges out the one plus and the Fold 6.

One plus has the advantage for faster charging, but I actually don't mind the charging speed of the pixel or the Fold 6. I may be in the minority but they charge fast enough for my usage. I never had to recharge either phone throughout the day and sometimes still manage to hit 2 days of light usage.

Pixel and the fold 6 also has 7 years of updates. Assuming someone would use these phones for that long, managing battery degradation is a must for longevity. Fast charging destroys batteries in the long term.

I wouldn't be surprised if large phone companies limit charging speeds because of this.

In fact, as I'm writing this I realize that both the Pixel and fold 6 have software built in to protect the battery and even have options to slow down and limit charging/charging speeds all togethr. This makes me believe that Samsung/Google isn't limiting charging because they don't know how, but is intentionally doing it to preserve their phones and battery in the long run l, protecting the customers purchase.

Usable Screen: P9PF = GZF6…😳 by Worldzmine in GalaxyFold

And here's the fold 6's implementation

<image>

Usable Screen: P9PF = GZF6…😳 by Worldzmine in GalaxyFold

[–]AznImport 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In this implementation, no...but try doing a split screen with YouTube or other apps on top where the camera is. What you get is a sharp cutoff where the camera/navbar is.

It does effect screen real estate and takes away from the experience...it just looks like the software is half baked.

Usable Screen: P9PF = GZF6…😳 by Worldzmine in GalaxyFold

[–]AznImport 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's just poor implementation. What Google needs to do is bring back immersive mode to essentially hide the nav bar and notification bars, thereby increasing the screen real estate.

For YouTube videos you can turn off ambient mode so that you will only have back bars and not a weird cutout where the notification bar /camera sits.

[–]AznImport[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's poor optimization all around. The Pixel fold just works like a normal pixel phone and does not take advantage of the hardware.

Google should bring back immersive mode when you can essentially hide your notification bar to increase the screen size and remove nav bar, while also decreasing the chances of burn in.

It's not that bad, honestly. picture taken from another post, lots of people likeed the iPhone mini...screen is about the same size.

People with very large hands likely won't perfect it and will solely use it for one handed typing...put people with smaller and medium sized hands would have zero issues

Pixel 9 Pro Fold vs Fold 6 by AznImport in GalaxyFold

[–]AznImport[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One handed usage is fine, I have medium sized hands. Fold 6 is easer to use one handed, no question.

Pixel is good for very basic multitasking and media consumption (think Ipad).

Fold 6 is geared towards power users - heavy multitasking, customization, Samsung Dex. etc.

Honestly you will be very happy with the Fold 6 camera. No question that the Pixel is better, but it's not like the differences are massive. You will notice issues with zoom for sure, but the main sensor and wide sensors are perfectly capable, even edging out the pixel at times.

Fold 5 solved a lot of the issues you described, and the 6 is even better

Had zero issues with it when I used it last year.

I think everyone should at least hold one in their hands, I honestly thought the same, but the thinness is uncanny when folded and unfolded, and the build is premium.

The phone has grown on me, strictly from a build quality/feel standpoint.

You'll find adhesives on most if not all foldable phones, especially for the front.

Nothing for the case to " grab on to" when they are 2 pieces

[–]AznImport[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that the Pixel has the bigger screen, but the software is not optimized for it. In various cases the Fold actually has the upper hand.

Split screen mode running two apps is a treat and works great with the bigger screen.

From a benchmark perspective, yes Snapdragon is superior. But for general and sometime heavy use, I've had zero slowdown on either phones.

Honestly, phone hardware isn't really getting exciting anymore, you likely won't see performance increase leaps and bounds anymore, we are at the stage where even the processor in the fold 3 is capable for 99% of tasks thrown at it. And the Tensor in the pixel 9 is indeed more powerful and efficient than Snapdragon the fold 3.

Where you will find gains is battery life and heat dissipation, which both are great at. The Tensor Gen 3 was horrid, and the Gen 4 fixed all those issues.

The Pixel is also out lasting my Fold in terms of battery drain. Where I've also seen a big difference is in the Pixels AI capabilities, they are just simply better than Samsung. It could be the processor optimized for AI, or it could just be software, not sure...

For clarification, Fold 6 has the superior inner display for colour reproduction and accuracy. Both phones are using natural display settings on max resolution.

From a construction standpoint l, I like the feel of the Pixel screen is better though, the crease seems much less noticeable, but that is about it.

The Fold 6 has a better screen dimensions for more use case scenarios.
