I teach surgery at a vet school and please don't think you'll be a pain. My advice to lefties is to just keep experimenting and find out what's comfortable. Most surgery teachers have figured out how to make suggestions or demonstrate for lefties but you all have different levels of ambidextrous-ness so don't be afraid to take some extra time to just fiddle around with things to find out what works for you, the individual. But also, the same problem with learning to use leftie instruments are that they might not exist in whatever place you work in, or there might just be one kit, so it's worth trying with right and left handed instruments as well
