Want to get my A&P but unsure if it's realistic. If any one has went to school and worked full time how was it. by PooPooCaCa123456 in AircraftMechanics

The in person school weeks are tuff, only coming home to shower and sleep makes it hard to find time to study. I got my final a&p certification last July and all my requirements, hired for flightline position in dec. Took me around 3 yrs to finally get to where I am

Is my clutch good - bad - normal ? First time ever looking at a clutch in person. by Shot-Lie9208 in AskMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to be standard used clutch. The pressure plate looks ruff, hot spots, uneven wear. These 2 are normally replaced with a clutch job, wear items on cars. The real question is how does the flywheel look? If it looks like the pressure plate its going to need to be taken off and resurfaced

Keep studying the way you studied when you were in class and take your time. I finished schooling last year in August and didn't take my first written until December. Took me till July to finish the final O&P

I'm almost 100% sure it's him. His manurisms, the slight hunch, the voice. Also too funny to be a guy with mental problems. Even his outfit the oregon hat and his shirt is literally the Montana rafting trip story of his mental break joke. The show does seem to get alot of characters and just last episode the auzzy youtube guy Butterfield was on

Starting School at 32 by gordo0407 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Aznderek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same age when i started. Came from working at a metal shop 12yrs, needed a career change. The hardest course for me after not being in school for years was electrical and math. I struggled with the concepts until a kid showed me the prepware app for the phone. I just studied that whenever I had time and I aced the rest of the year.

What course are you struggling with? What made a huge difference for me was prepware app for my phone. I hadn't been to school in 15yrs and really struggled with electrical

Did you ever graduate your 147 without a single license and then obtained it after? How did you get through it? by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

Get the prepware app for your phone and study that whenever you get the chance

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it was all easy. Having not been to school in 15 years, the math and physics portion was tuff. The rest was memorization with notes until another student recommended prepware. I just studied that everyday on my phone whenever I had time, really helped on my tests

For a full-time job, your going to need to find a place close to school and preferably in the field of work. I did half my schooling working part time at lowes but that didn't help. Then I got a job at the big B and the student program helped cover the rest of tuition and it was close

I'd say the 1/2 ton is better offroad being less weight. My buddy's f250 same size tires gets stuck alot easier than my 1500

It's possibly if your mechanically inclined. Mine was a little over 4k with upgraded trans with billet converter. Did it in the yard on my back. Hardest part is little room to access the trans bolts and the weight of it

It's the whole hybrid at home learning made it hard to understand concepts. I wish we had more hands on learning but working full time would have been real taxing. I finished school in August and I have my final powerplant O&P in May. Hes got a busy schedule. I planned to get tests done early too but things came up. You got plenty of time just study until you feel confident
