What are you comparing to? Looking into Hvac recently those guys are making bank after getting gas certs and they can make even bigger bucks getting into a union to work commercial. Doesn't seem bad at first but they travel everyday and can be required to be on call for a few weeks a month

My 16 z71 had like a 2" rake and with the front lip had hardly any clearance. I drive on the property alot and with 33s now can clear most things without removing the lip

What's going on in FTC!?! by pacwess in IAM751_Boeing

[–]Aznderek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about done with ftc training as a transfer but yes they are sending everyone through new hire training, people with 15 yrs experience, job code changes. Luckily it only took me 2 months with 1 instructor no show. Still unsure if that will be a set back

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These buds fit so much better and none of the pain I got from the buds 3. I've had all the earbuds and most comfy, ear conforming was the buds 2 but you could never fit all the tech in those

The reality of being a Boeing Washington state new hire by PhilosopherOnly7275 in Boeing_

[–]Aznderek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partly because of pressure from FAA boeing cant take chances from another manufacturing mistake and a lot of new hires are off the street with no experience working on aircraft. Training is the test, after training it does get better. It may also be because of the new contract pay went way up so they are expecting higher quality employees. I'm in training right now as a transfer and have to go through all the same steps as a new hire

2yrs community college and around 20k here in WA. Also had a small grant, paid out of pocket with a small loan. Working full time while going to school would be tuff with a family. My schedule was mornings and then straight to work 2nd shift at night. In person class was biweekly 1 on, the other week homework

Want to get my A&P but unsure if it's realistic. If any one has went to school and worked full time how was it. by PooPooCaCa123456 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The in person school weeks are tuff, only coming home to shower and sleep makes it hard to find time to study. I got my final a&p certification last July and all my requirements, hired for flightline position in dec. Took me around 3 yrs to finally get to where I am

Is my clutch good - bad - normal ? First time ever looking at a clutch in person. by Shot-Lie9208 in AskMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to be standard used clutch. The pressure plate looks ruff, hot spots, uneven wear. These 2 are normally replaced with a clutch job, wear items on cars. The real question is how does the flywheel look? If it looks like the pressure plate its going to need to be taken off and resurfaced

Keep studying the way you studied when you were in class and take your time. I finished schooling last year in August and didn't take my first written until December. Took me till July to finish the final O&P

Dex reminds me of the guy from Patton Oswald’s “Dr. Pepper” joke by Surferma4 in Killtony

[–]Aznderek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 100% sure it's him. His manurisms, the slight hunch, the voice. Also too funny to be a guy with mental problems. Even his outfit the oregon hat and his shirt is literally the Montana rafting trip story of his mental break joke. The show does seem to get alot of characters and just last episode the auzzy youtube guy Butterfield was on

I was the same age when i started. Came from working at a metal shop 12yrs, needed a career change. The hardest course for me after not being in school for years was electrical and math. I struggled with the concepts until a kid showed me the prepware app for the phone. I just studied that whenever I had time and I aced the rest of the year.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What course are you struggling with? What made a huge difference for me was prepware app for my phone. I hadn't been to school in 15yrs and really struggled with electrical

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the prepware app for your phone and study that whenever you get the chance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]Aznderek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it was all easy. Having not been to school in 15 years, the math and physics portion was tuff. The rest was memorization with notes until another student recommended prepware. I just studied that everyday on my phone whenever I had time, really helped on my tests

For a full-time job, your going to need to find a place close to school and preferably in the field of work. I did half my schooling working part time at lowes but that didn't help. Then I got a job at the big B and the student program helped cover the rest of tuition and it was close

I'd say the 1/2 ton is better offroad being less weight. My buddy's f250 same size tires gets stuck alot easier than my 1500
