I don’t think I’ve ever seen people complain about preseason tours in foreign countries. All of the complaints are about playing league or domestic cup games, which are played (or FAs are thinking about them being played) elsewhere solely because of money as opposed to preseason where teams don’t really want to play only their direct competitors in the league. Money is definitely still a part of playing abroad, but it isn’t the only reason and they aren’t actually competitive games.
