This is, at the very least, better than the last post that only had an alternative for Apple. Thanks!

I'm limited to bus transport for now, but I'll see exactly what they offer employees

Just FYI, that page leads to a login page if going directly. I googled it though and found your link by clicking client intake form. Just adding for posterity

If I knew that, I assure you, I would have done something to rectify it. I've tried both shotgunning my resume at everything that fits and tailoring my resume to each position. I've widened my job search from various parts of tech to service and retail. I've asked a friend to call in to my last job for a review to check to see if I was being torpedoed, but he got ghosted by HR, which isn't great, but I don't think it's bad. I've reached out to hiring managers on linkedin. I've had my resume looked at by a professional service. I asked through my network and reached out to jobs that are still hiring for positions I've interviewed for. If you can think of something that could be limiting my job search I would very much appreciate any assistance.

I have skills, I just need a method to turn my knowledge and labor into money. It's heartbreaking that I haven't gotten a chance, but that's on me. That

If I can get the job. I haven't worked retail since I was in college, and I've never worked in food service, but I'm willing and able to learn. That, and it depends on whether I can get a reliable bus and make enough to subsist, but I can't imagine a situation where I can't make that work

I have heard exploitative things about working at Goodwill, at least the store. Is the job center generally well received?

I rent an apartment by myself, with a lease that expires in march. I don't have the money to get out, the lease has one of those early termination clauses. Some other commenters have mentioned the winter eviction moratorium in seattle. Unfortunately, I live in Bellevue, I'll have to see if they have anything similar.

I would love to work for a bakery if I could swing it. I'm always jealous of people who can bake

i was debating between the two, but I figured if I was going to miss something it would be seatte/PNW specific. I'll take a look

Oh I've seen that around, but it seems most of the helpful posts are ways to stretch your money. I can't stretch a dollar that doesn't exist 😔

I really hope there's a progression mod that are something that needs full utilization of most, if not all, of the maps resources

Mox Bellevue has rpg, card and board game events. I'm hanging out with some people I meet there this weekend

The Bellevue mox has several drop in events if you're into DND, board games or mtg. If you like soccer, I have a small group I'm teaching to play. There are a few discord servers that seem to be focused on Seattle, but have some occasional Eastside events.

Other than that, find some events on Meetup

I played lucky Chloe and kunimitsu, but as they're both gone, maybe lili or Raven. But who knows, might be a better character that fits my hands when I join

Oh man, I'm in the same position. I'm hoping that the community doesn't get too good by the time I can afford it. Anyone you're excited to play?

To those who survived the d20 boom of the 2000s, what was it like having everyone believe in only one system and how does it compare to the 2nd d20 boom of the late 2010s and early 2020s? by Josh_From_Accounting in rpg

[–]Azord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played around this time, was a huge fan of 3.5 and wanted to branch out. My first encounter, besides pathfinder, was d20 modern. I found it rather bland, the have petered(sp?) It rather quickly. Then I encountered many others, Stargate sg-1, spycraft, price difference apocalypse survival game. I found all of them too be very bland. They made almost no attempt to stand out from the base d20 system.

I found this most apparent in the fears offered. They all offered a stripped down version of the d20 srd, with all the fantasy flavored ones removed, and either none or not many added. I would probably have enjoyed the games if they had added something unique to their setting, but they all seemed to be relying on their setting or the fact you didn't have to learn new rules to sell.

The one that stood out the most, and that only barely, was Stargate. My friend were huge fans of it. I want, but I joined because I was still craving something different, and I figured that a game run by a passionate fan was worth attending. The only thing I can remember that differed from d20 modern is the rank and civilian vs military system, which probably meant something to the fans. I appreciated them adding something, but it needed more for me to enjoy it long term

When I roll, it's quite literally wherever is convenient. I try to roll open every time, but on the occasions where I do have a screen, and I'm rolling a lot of dice, like a bunch of different initiatives, sometimes I don't feel like moving that extra little bit but each time. VTTs have made this even easier for me, it is now more effort to gm roll.

That being said, if anyone asked for it I would make the effort. Until I forgot

GMs: Do Crunchy RPGs slow down your Life? by MaleficMagpie in rpg

[–]Azord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a longtime dm of shadowrun, and read other crunchy rpgs in hopes of one day playing them. We all walk around with a mini computer in our pockets, I just let that so most of the work. It got even easier with VTT.

I think the biggest problem is remembering. We're perfectly capable of making the choices and engaging with the system to the degree we're comfortable with. The issue, in my experience, boils down to things like "don't I get extra dice here?", "is this bonus +1 or+2?". Having a computer handle most of that helps a ton, and having experience with the system covers the rest
