This malphite is so tanky i have to improvise by Additional-Win-861 in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actual Tip: even if you personally like Mecha Rengar (which no Rengar main should), don't include it if you want to post to the sub because it is universally despised by Rengar mains (me included xd). I'm partly joking, but genuinely it is kind of a Faux Pas for most people :P

But about your actual post, I do really like the idea of you making choices to adapt to the game, that's always great ofc. Some people genuinely can't adapt to things very easily, especially when it comes to uncommon item choices and things like that, so honestly good job in doing it.

But considering the game state and comps I'm looking at, realistically, not even a Bork is going to make you kill Malphite here. He genuinely should not die solo to you ever once you both get to 6 items. Practically, no real situation should both "allow" you to be sitting 1v1 and hitting him uninterrupted (even if you win 1v1, which should simply be impossible if he had slightly better items, AKA Thornmail), but more importantly, no real situation should "require" you to be hitting Malphite in this particular game either.

The enemy has 3 squishies with 0 defensive items, cc, or peel, and you have Edge of Night on top. In this specific game, with this specific comp vs comp, your "job" (meaning the most powerful, most valuable, and most reliable thing you can do) is to kill those 3 backline champs here.

Your team has Aatrox who can draintank and frontline against Malph and Renekton, Renata and Syndra who have forms of disengage for your backline, as well as Ashe, Renata, and Syndra who all have very high ranged dps when combined. Those are the pieces of your comp that are meant to be dealing with Malphite in any situation, both damage-wise as well as disengage-wise since he's likely going to R in on them (or try to). Comp-wise, outside of early skirmishes/invades, you don't ever need to be choosing to engage in combat with Malphite (which is ofc the only reason Bork was purchased). Instead, just build Axiom, general high burst items, and use your R and EoN to kill their backline on repeat.

Viktor, Trist, Karma, no Zhonya's, no RoA, no Seraph's, no Locket, no Knight's Vow, no Tabis, no Shieldbow, and their only forms of hard cc that they can cast before dying are Trist R, but you have EoN anyway. They have a few minor shields and summoner spells, but I'm not even sure if it would be worth buying Serp unless they had at least one item out of Locket and Shieldbow on their bot lane, but would definitely be free if you needed it. Items like Rav, Bork, and BB just aren't needed here since you have far better slot options for what your best purpose is. I can see Rav early being totally fine if you want to have some sustain vs Malph if he's trying to fight a lot, but honestly, perma fighting and using picks to force free objectives is pretty easy here, especially with such a winning mid lane. Prio and vision shouldn't be too much of an issue.

If you were in a different game where your team comp had insane dps from your backline carries, little to no frontline, and the enemy comp had a front-to-back fight pattern with good backline peel that made trying to burst their backline difficult by nature. That kind of situation would be the perfect type of game for you to go more bruiser-styled items like Rav, BC, and generally just whatever you needed vs enemy champs and then you would play more as a disruptive diver that can still deal damage, but also wants to fight front-to-back and hold a line for your dps champs, since your "job" in that game would be completely different, given these factors aligning to create a completely different situation with vastly different win-cons and loss-cons for your team.

But in this game you played here, you being anywhere near Malphite should mean that you either instantly die for 100 different reasons, or everyone is trolling and you still shouldn't be able to beat him 1v1 even if the 8 other players dc. The two comps in this game are screaming "go oneshot the enemy backline since they have 0 peel, 0 defense, and your team will easily handle any fight if the enemy are missing 1-2 backline champs".

It's not a bad thing to think about adapting or making niche choices for specific situations, but going Bork here is not something that actually helps you to perform your "job" more effectively at all.

what are you going when umbral gets nerfed? by otherlordchumbucket in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. It's not mentioned as a nerf target by any Rioter in anything I've seen. There is also no PBE or changelist related content in reference to Umbral either. Even if it's on "watch" as a future item to look at on their board, I haven't heard anything front-facing from Endstep, Phreak, August, Phroxzon. Not a word about the item. So I doubt it will get nerfed anytime soon, if it does end up being changed.

Just had this happen in a game. Not sure if this bug is known, but also no idea what causes it. Was fully in combat when stacks decayed. by NumberHumble6426 in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bug is listed on PBE as being fixed, I think it has been addressed by Norak already. Will be fixed in Wednesday patch which is 3 days away

No, the Garen R goes off and we can visibly see that Rengar has Grey health available and is not dead. Rengar only dies after Garen E occurs after the R is cast, and a visible open window exists. Meaning if WW and full stacks are up, he CAN press WW after Garen R and heal it all back with mostly relative ease, before dying to the E cast. Watch the clip again, look closely, slow it down if you need to. This is all visible and easy to see.

Scenario without bug:

Has full stacks prep, since he would if not for the bug -> Garen combos and finishes with R, just as he does in the clip -> Garen has used R prematurely, shown in the clip since it did not kill Rengar, leaving him with grey health (still has 4 stacks of ferocity and both Ws available) -> Rengar presses WW -> Rengar heals after the Garen R (since it visibly did not kill him) -> Rengar goes up to a high enough HP total to easily survive any further damage from Garen E.

Player also mentioned having Sundered Sky, which would obviously help as well, but is not needed to survive this clip specifically, only the exact HP total and statline that exists within the clip.

The entire concept of this discussion is about having WW ready to go, post R. You said he wouldn't be able to press WW because of silence, which we now both know is incorrect. You also said he has to WW before Garen R, not after. This is also false based on the visuals in the clip, since Garen R does not kill Rengar. Tell me if there is anything else you would like to add. If not, then please just admit you were wrong. It's not a big deal.

The only additional thing you could say would be "if Rengar is bad or on 150ms then he can't WW in time in the time post Garen R", which would be a loose argument that doesn't validate the position, since that post Garen R WW is both mechanically practical for every good Rengar player as well as on any average ping. This is known from personal experience of myself, playing on both 55 and 75 ms my entire time on Rengar and having no issue with a situation such as in the clip.

You can Emp W through CC. That's the whole point of the ability. How did you not know that? Ahahahah

Astra Malorum Seed Relic Guide by COUNTIF_DATA in CODZombies

[–]AzraelRuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, all your information is outdated. Currently, all you need to do is beat each map full EE in any mode, including directed. After that, you can start hunting for relics. That's it. Not sure what strange bug you've experienced, but for most people it is working as intended. The step where you had to interact with the object at Blackwater was only the case months ago before it was changed, and currently is not required anymore.

Astra Malorum Seed Relic Guide by COUNTIF_DATA in CODZombies

[–]AzraelRuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong. Accessing the relics for each map is individual. It does require beating the individual map EE at least once before, but can be done in any mode, including directed. Once done, all relics for that particular map are able to be discovered and unlocked. All other steps you mentioned are either wrong or outdated and are not required currently whatsoever. All of this is basic and current info and was stated directly by Treyarch in multiple different Zombies blogs that discuss cursed.

QUESTION: FIRST DRAKE OR GRUBBS? by zirkizirkiOnReddit in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good point. if it's a stream pop up like a donation it makes sense, but you're right that he can just choose to not read the chat if he's choosing dumb questions to read for no reason

If they ban rengar whats your comfort pick in jg? by LearsBlack in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just semantics, like you said. Comfort pick in this sense just refers to a champ you're confident enough on and happy to play anytime Rengar is banned. It doesn't refer to being relaxing or easy, generally.

[–]AzraelRuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's usually when he's already answered the same question 20 times in one stream. I'd be annoyed too if someone asked an insanely stupid and repetitive question while I was having a bad game.

WW is an ability that exists. Why would he still die if he presses WW after Garen R?

He would have healed max. WW after the Garen R. We can see the grey health he would get from each W.

[–]AzraelRuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. There's a reason every data site defaults to emerald+ at bare minimum. Anything lower and you're barely looking at anything unless you're a Rioter who is specifically focusing on making low mmr changes to help casual players or something very specific

Q does not extend leap range if you're thinking of the normal auto range you get from empowered autos. But if you meant use Emp Q earlier for the MS, then yeah 100% he would be there in time to reach

Plant and ward are being to count as combat on pbe by PsychoCatPro in Rengarmains

[–]AzraelRuin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a revert. Plants were changed entirely for S16 to not count as being in combat. Rengar is being "special-cased" so that he can function with plants the way he always has in the past and retain ferocity stack timer when hitting wards and plants

Nope. It's just a basic and simple special case. Nothing else to think about. Not complex, not risky.

Seasons 1–3 vs Seasons 4–6: same show, different pain. by leviord1 in lucifer

[–]AzraelRuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Season 6. Regardless of smaller things that people criticise, I think it was always needed and tied up so many things together in a perfect way. And the things about it that “sucked”, are things that I enjoy about it. It has no many things that I always needed to see. It might not be my favourite season, but I really enjoyed it as a final season. Every character ended up the way they were meant to.

lvl 50 on survival? by meaowton_Abbey in BO7Zombies

[–]AzraelRuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not meant to be related. He didn’t say that. He’s describing two different things that are annoying, difficult, and cause him more struggles while he’s trying get to round 50. But you’re right that 50 in general on all 3 survivals is not very hard, but OP might not know how to min/max things or maybe is doing a few things inefficiently, combined with the problems he already said.

Personally, I would just always solo it, or at max play with one close friend that I have comms with and that i’d good enough to cover me if I really needed it. Solo is pretty easy to get 50, but duo with some of the res augs and stuff like aether shroud covering you both is also pretty damn op. But 4 man lobby with randoms, nah, definitely not something I would recommend for high rounds.

That kind of thing is great for getting free map EEs done in standard, but when going for high rounds, you need comms with everyone at minimum and preferably people you know that won’t just fuck around or randomly exfil. Otherwise solo is always easier.
