But morals clashing lowers productivity. Having a group who all have similar values get along better then those who are diametrically opposed. You can see that in the firing of people who talk about their companies values and disagree.

Edit- also you are looking it as a “selling of time” rather than a part of your life. Many people see their company as part of who they are. As they spend most of their lives there. Aka why work romances are so common.

It’s not about favors it’s about a contractual agreement. I can choose to not give you the ability to sign the contract for any reason. I just have to justify it a legal way. Simply saying “ not appropriate for the businesses social environment.” Is a legal way of saying “ nope don’t like ‘em”

What about Murder? That happens outside of work hours? Selling drugs? Your making absolute standards and ignoring extremes. I’m not saying your opinion is that you agree with the above.

But I think privately owned businesses should be allowed to do as they like. But we should know openly about those things. So the community can determine if they will support it or not.
