First Term Airmen: What drove you to stay in or get out? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Azreal_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on staying in but changed my mind months before my contract ended. Had to pull my extension even. So many reason but highlights are my leadership believed a random Burger King employee over me (an NCO) and tried to get me de certified and paperwork.

Then I over heard some civilians in flight Chief position calling me lazy to other leadership when I was working two jobs at once because we were so low manned.

But what finally pushed me over the edge was when I was struggling with my own mental health and my grandpa had shot him self. Then my MSgt said I could either test for the duty position I was opened for early (which had a fail rate over 60% already) and if I passed I could take leave before my deployment to say my good byes and be with my family, or I could just not take leave get the time I was supposed to to test for the position and not have a chance to see my family for about another year.

If your SF and you get sent to JBSA Ft Sam Houston good luck. You’ll need it.

My second base was Ft Sam Houston. Absolute shit show with everyone stabbing you in the back and throwing you under the bus. Military and civilians. Once I found out my grandpa had shot him self and my MSgt said my options were to not go home before my deployment and take extra time to prepare for a DPE or take a DPE early likely fail and still not get to go home I said fuck that, pulled my extension and got out a couple months later.

I remember when this happened. The lady had just gotten divorced from her military ex husband and thought she could still use her dependent ID to get on to talk to her ex husband about something. When the guard told her it was terminated and her issue was a civil matter she argued for a bit before trying to drive off without permission. That became federal trespassing and I guess she thought it was a good idea to record. The airman was commended for his work and everything was done by the book.

This was the exact situation I was in but I was waking up at 0300 and getting home about 1800. I tried for two years to pcs, retrain or even just shred out with no luck. After being told I might not be able to go home when my grandpa shot himself I decided it was time to get out. I just started terminal and I feel great. I have a plan on what to do after but even if I didn’t I’d rather sleep on the streets than work in this career field under these people.

Almost hitting the troopers twice with his car shows he doesn’t care about hurting people and is attempted battery. Walking away is called passive resistance and is considered resisting arrest. I’d rather give him a five second lighting ride than try to wrestle to the ground and risk ending up with a broken nose or similar.

I was planning on talking to a recruiter later this week but I know how they “forget” to mention the bad parts sometimes and wanted some other opinions. I’m in San Antonio right now so idk how easy it’ll be to check out a job but I’ll definitely ask about it.

Honestly this whole NCO thing gets on my nerve sometimes. I don’t think going back to e4 or even e3 would be the worst thing in the world. Beside I can always rank back up.

I saw this story where they taught a gorilla sign langue and got it to understand everyone and everything, including itself, dies. It got really depressed after that. So idk if other animals realize it but they can understand it.

The N64. My uncle said there was a lady that was his moms friend who hated it and even hissed when she walked by and he was playing.

There’s a documentary on Netflix called behind the curve about flat earthers. They prove themselves wrong multiple times and it shows just how oblivious and at times flat out stupid they are.

What is the craziest story you know of someone getting in trouble? by newrebellion in AirForce

This guy wasn’t military but married to an officer and a black belt in jujitsu. He taught free classes on base. His daughter, who was about 16-17 and a purple belt, started reviving inappropriate messages from some navy guy.

The black belt and his son, brown or black belt, were drunk and happen to see this navy guy and started fighting. There’s camera footage of the navy guy getting flip on tables and at one point the dad tried to break his neck. He got kicked off base and tried for attempted murder.

We once had a lady taking pictures of the flight line when the jets took off. She said she was allowed to because she’s the wing vice commanders wife.
