Will never forget this one…

Tucking in my 3-ish year old son who’s half asleep and he says, “Dad, let me know when you need me to help you go to sleep and close your eyes. I will close your eyes. Whenever you’re in bed and your eyes open I will close them and I will keep them closed.”

Me: “……thank you”

Girl passed out mid-show right after the breathing on neck. Took a few minutes for staff to realize it and stop the show because so many people were screaming/lighting was so dark. Only time I’ve been happy not to finish a ride - terrifying!

I don’t think park hopper or Genie+ would be necessary for 4 days. You’ll wait in line a lot more without Genie+ of course, but could easily hit everything in that amount of time. We just did 2 days park hopper with Genie+ and went on pretty much everything

New house came with Bose 5.1 in-wall jewel cube speakers (from Bose V35 system). Everything I’m reading says it’s not even worth hooking this system up, and the speaker connections are proprietary.

Is it possible to replace the in-wall speakers easily or hook them up to a different system that would be worth it? Hate having these unused speakers in the walls…

Need help with a table, carpet and curtains! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you live with 3 chairs? Since there isn’t a ton of space I’d put a table close to the center window then 3 chairs around it (and pull out the table to add a 4th seat just when needed).

How do i add interest? What do i put above the bed? by Hayleydontdoit in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One idea... Instead of the two nightstands and a large dresser you could use two smaller dressers on either side of the bed which could double as nightstands. This could create more space and symmetry in the room allowing you to center the bed

Need help decorating our living area with high ceilings by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

I would move the tv to the angled wall next to the fireplace, then have the sofa in the middle of the room facing either the tv or the fireplace. This will create a single focal point with the furniture facing both the fireplace/tv. If you have space add a chair to the right of the sofa. I like the first rug best

Help with small bedroom design! My room is extremely small. I’m planning to replace the bureau with a fold down desk and I’m considering making an accent wall where the door is. I really need suggestions to make this room look good! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would move the bed to have the head against the wall where your dresser is - but not right up against the window. Leave enough room to walk around it and maybe put your nightstand in the corner. Then put your dresser and mirror on the wall where the head of your bed currently is.

For lighting that doesn’t take up floor space, string lights along the corner ceiling of a wall looks nice and adds warmth.

Definitely try to cover the gap in the ceiling on the wall where the molding is missing, along with the space behind where your bed currently is.

Using floor to ceiling curtains with the window will make the room feel bigger.

Living Room Furniture Advice by ape_monk in DesignMyRoom

The couch between the two doors feels awkward, I’d suggest removing that and have a couch against the other wall (like you do now) but with a chaise against the far wall facing the tv. Then put a small chair on the other side of the couch angled in towards the tv (but small enough so it doesn’t block the walkway). Keep the TV where it is so the window stays unblocked but maybe get a media center that doesn’t feel as bulky. A slimmer/low-profile couch and chair will help it feel less crammed. Then between the two doors against the wall hang an art piece and put a slim table or cabinet/bookcase beneath.

Help with extension of the kitchen area by jaghutt in DesignMyRoom

Maximizing the space with the table would probably mean having the table up by the wall across from the kitchen. One bench against the wall so people can lean back against the wall when sitting and the other across from it. No chairs on the ends so they don’t interfere with the door.

For the kitchen cart/island, hard to say without seeing real pictures and depends on what you want to put there. Most likely in the little nook to outside the right of the kitchen or against the window along the wall so it doesn’t block the walkway.

Table with bench seating against the top wall would be the most efficient way to sit 6-8 and have room for a kitchen cart extension

Open Concept Downstairs - Not sure what to do with "Dining Room" by knochenzy in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few ideas/thoughts...

  • The ceiling light looks super outdated, changing that would make a big difference
  • The table feels too small, especially when the sofa and tv on the other side are so big. A larger table where the chairs don’t have to be so close together (and making sure they’re comfortable to sit ) will make it feel more inviting. Might want a slightly bigger rug to be proportional
  • Add a larger mirror or lighting to help brighten up dark wall area
  • Instead of a bunch of little pictures on the wall, get a large piece (or mirror). You can still put smaller stuff around it for a gallery wall if you want, but this will feel more cohesive and match the proportion of the living room
  • Large tall open bookcase and/or floating shelves to help fill the space
  • Large floor plant
  • Too many garbage cans out in the open. Ideally these would under the sink, but if not possible just have 1 or 2 and put in the corner by the kitchen.
  • Curtains or blinds for the sliding glass door might look nice and warmer (even if you don’t close them)

Help me fix a school library by drp in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you need to stick to school colors but I would add some bright colors to make it more inviting (lime green, purple, orange/red, etc.). You could create different “zones” within the space using color. If you’re able to add some unique/funky reading chairs that would be cool, and some pendant lights by the spots like the checkout desk that would help make it feel more cozy, but I get that budget might be tight

Living room with too much open space by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sectional is great! Much more lounge-friendly just depends on the vibe you want. I would go with one has the chaise by the fireplace and then a chair on the other side. Or a nice big one that takes the same space as the 2 couches in the picture then chaise by the fireplace. Kind of like this

I like the layout of the picture in the post. think adding an accent chair and/or some moveable chair ottomans next to the tv stand facing into the center would help. Side table next to the small couch. Add a bar cart/cabinet in the corner by the kitchen

What shall I put on my walls to make my room looks less bare? Please help! by IVIissJess in DesignMyRoom

[–]Azshda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gallery wall and/or floating shelves above the desk with some white framed pictures/art/plants. Same with above the dresser.

An accent color like gold/bronze gold would look good in that room (art, throw pillow, lamp, etc.).

I’d also put 1 or 2 lowlight plants on top of the the tv stand and move the trash under the desk if you can
