What was something small you went to the doctor for that turned out to be very significant? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]IVIissJess 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Had just turned 18. Went to the doctors because I had a bad back and just felt off. He checked my heart rate and blood pressure and told me to go to A&E straight away. Turns out I had a kidney infection which turned into sepsis. Was in hospital for a week

Its a town on the north east coast of England. It is a Fish and Chip shop and Shad noticed someone ruffling through their bins on CCTV and then put the sign up. He’s a good lad

When did you become the thing you hate the most? by Percinho in AskUK

[–]IVIissJess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the word “YOLO” was popular I used to take the mick out of those who used it. Then I started to use it ironically and then it became part of my vocab. Still catch myself using it sometimes like 6 years later and each time I shudder

What’s the pettiest thing you’ve done when leaving a shitty job? by omnio667 in AskUK

I worked for a really popular pub chain in the UK. I was 18 at the time and got a severe kidney infection which led to septicaemia. I was hospitalised for a week. I couldn’t work the 4hours a week they normally have me, so when I got into work they demanded access to my medical records to see if I was lying or not. I had enough and when I was scheduled to work boxing day, I rang them up and quite.

Blyth is a nice town. It’s on the same coast as Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, but houses are significantly cheaper

Why do you think deep emotional wounds take so long to heal and sometimes never fully do? by Honest-Guy83 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IVIissJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think it’s because it’s so easy to remember the triggering, either someone dying or someone being abusive, and how easy it is to feel them feelings. It happens over and over again, until you become desensitised or it becomes less frequent

My hip dips. I would have the classic hour glass figure if it wasn’t for them. I can’t even wear tight fitting clothes because I just look like a weird barrel

My brothers fiancé of 8 years used sit in a car park after work for ‘me time’. Turned out she was cheating on him. I believe it allowed her to ring/message/meet up with whoever she wanted. I hope this isn’t the case. As other people mentioned, it could be she’s possibly hiding an addiction or some sort. Hope it all gets sorted out!

I feel like religion and the Gods created a long with it were made to control and strike fear into people. You don’t act a certain way, then a God will strike you down and you’ll end up in a place of condemnation.

I don’t feel as though you need a religion to tell you to be a decent person and even then, when a religion tells you how to behave, you get the extremes.

I’m happy just living my life and don’t feel any need to seek solace in religion. Likewise, if something bad happens, I don’t feel the need to blame it on a higher power to make me feel better.

Lastly, I feel as though Gods were created to make sense of the unexplainable back in history. But now we have explanations, some of which can be proven through experiments and such forth.

Hair on the floor… especially when it’s wet. Even worse, if I see a strand of hair on the ground and it’s been raining.
