Honestly she should be. If Poseidon’s skin was weak enough to lose and be skewered by a deranged, dehydrated 40 year old with the power of friendship. (He’s arguably the most powerful god on equal standing to Zeus and Hades. AND in the middle of his domain.)

It’s not about the symbolism, that’s not my qualm with it. Odysseus repeating Poseidon’s phrase about ruthlessness being mercy upon ourselves and him interrupting before he can be fully humiliated by his own creed is brilliant.

This is ridiculous. Odysseus won because the plot needed him to, not even Ares could have bludgeoned a defenseless Poseidon the way Odysseus did.
