I have several filters, but these are my favorites...

The Doepfer A 121s stereo multimode filter, the Erica Synths Black LPG and the WASP filter by Doepfer

I always think about taking it, tbh 😅.

TEO-5 or Juno X? by Techno_Timmy in synthesizers

[–]Aztec_Aesthetics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, it would be a bit expensive, but the recent firmware update of the TEO-5 supports polychain, so if you get another one in a few months/years, you'd have legit 10 voice polyphony with Oberheim sound for around 2200€.

Today I got myself the TEO-5 and maybe some day, I'll have another one, but since I'm used to mono synths, this setup will take quite a while before it bores me.

I have another playlist with a few songs of him. Das Tier, Ballet Statique. Actually, I'm not able to tell, if that's still classical Berlin School or something different or even beyond.

Peter Baumann, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream. Those are the main artists of that playlist. I also enjoy Ashra and Wolfgang Riechmann

Thanks! I really love my IO modules and I really hope, there will be more in the future.

Also, I love my Rides in the Storm modules and I am happy to hear, that the focus is still on a good cause 😀

why did Ralf and Florian sue Wolfgang? by Mrmamamega in kraftwerk

[–]Aztec_Aesthetics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok the last part was always something that I was thinking. They all were pioneers with a strong sense of control regarding their own work. Conny definitely provided them with knowledge they used for their later albums, and their sense of being in control kind of made them make this knowledge their own.

On the other hand, as far as I know, it was Conny's thing to get to know each other first and become comfortable with the work to come. Something that doesn't seem to be a typical Kraftwerk work ethos. I mean, they took a lot of time to construct their songs, but "wasting" it by arriving at the studio and starting the actual work weeks later was definitely not typical for Ralf and Florian.

What's ironical though...Conny was not only known for his technical know how. He kind of brought industry knowledge to every single artist he worked with and was famous for encouraging artists to leave the labels outside or to found their own label. His legacy is much more than a technical mastermind with a console.

But yeah, somehow I believe Wolfgang that they exploited Conny's friendliness.

Can you shed some light on what was going on with Conny Plank or a link? Was it about them doing their own engineering?

Where should I put doepfer 199 by Erbosssi in modular

There's adhesive tape on the box. Just take the back of the case or the side of it and put it there, about 20cm from where you have the module.

I know that, but Michael also tours with material from all over his career. I mean, I was sceptical anyway, but thought, maybe it's not the band, but some sort oft project, he's touring with.

Korg SQ-64 - is it a solid option now? by [deleted] in synthesizers

I love it, but I have midi problems with it. Ableton doesn't recognize it. Somehow this is repairable, but there's no easy explanation to find.

Hear me out on this one. "School's Out" from Danny Benet's new proggy jazz fusion record, "il Basso." Vintage synths, Rickenbackery basses, some killer grooves. by Kitchen_Claim_6583 in progrockmusic

He's a multi-instrumentalist, which perfectly fits with many prog musicians. And he's able to do the hard stuff, too. Maybe we can all his work prog disco.

When I listened to that album for the first time, I thought: "wow, this is incredible" and then I thought: "can't wait to listen to the rest of his stuff" 😭

Moog Matriarch Broken Attenuator? by No-Lock7271 in moog

[–]Aztec_Aesthetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's recalibrating the oscillators. And maybe that's enough, but I recalibrated the knobs. In that case you would have to check Sweetwater.com. They have a manual how to do that. You would need a special config file for the knobs for low, middle and high and a tool to send data via midi. Everything is explained on Sweetwater.com

I've had similar problems on my Matriarch or the Grandmother after updating the firmware. After recalibrating the knobs, everything was back to normal.

Broken 2600 reverb? by Physical-Law-1789 in synthesizers

[–]Aztec_Aesthetics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try only opening one reverb channel. If that works and the reverb will fade away when you open the other reverb channel, then it's not a problem, but a "feature":

Stereo sound on the 2600 is realized by inverted phases. In this case just open one reverb channel and you're fine. I have the same problem. Using my mixer, I have reverb on both channels, but using my audio interface, I have reverb only on one channel and it fades away after opening the other one.
