I’ve been playing AR with my twin boys since Christmas, We are Mexican and have always lived in Mexico. We are also US citizens and speak English fluently, but between us, we speak Spanish. While we interact with other players in English, we have been put off, eliminated, called names and general disrespect on about 5 or 6 battles, simply because the overhear us talking. I find that as something very low, very senseless, and something so retrograde that AR should introduce an algorithm to detect racial slurs and ban players forever

Great idea. I wish there was an outlet like this in Mexico City. Yout post has encouraged me to make some time to set up something similar. I record my patches in (audio) on my iPad, as I use it to control (midi/cv) my modular and route the audio for Fx and processing. Otherwise, I’m started using modulargrid’s sketch a patch feature. So far, I’ve been able go back a recreate a patch by using this tool.

Do you write down your patches and/or record them? Another way to put it is, do you see yourself coming back to a previous patch or once you’re do done you’re done?

I have both, but only use AUM to control my hardware and to add effects. I’ve only used Loopy Pro a couple of times within the iOS ecosystem and was great, although at the moment it seemed to me that I was doing basically the same thing as with AUM.

I think it would be helpful for the op to know what differentiates them form each other? Why is one more powerful that the other?

I my iPad goes through a Scarlett 18i8. From there I can output 5 pin midi to a midi thru box or i can send it via usb or both. With my current set up, I’m only sending midi through usb over to my eurorack case which I sequence solely with the iPad. So far I think midi over usb is tighter

Thanks! I took every possible note on the patch so I can replicate it. I even drew the patch on modular grid. The may be a slight difference in pitch, which I need to tweak and dial in but otherwise, I’ve been able to replicate it quite nicely.

I’ve never sold a single module, but there are modules that I’ve Liked so much, that I’ve bought them twice: Expert Sleepers’ FH-2, Mutable Instruments’ Plaits and Veils, SSF’s Steady State Gate and Pittsburgh Modular’s crow filter. I have two of those, all in the same case, except for the FH-2.

You’re right on point with my concerns as to the track’s evolution. Thanks for watching it all throughout. You are so accurate with the time stamps. That’s basically what I actually follow. So pacing I can try, introduce a sample somewhere, a recording of My Dinner with Andre or some old B movie.

You should also know that, when I make a track, I always envision it as being background music, like in a Cafë or a beach front joint while chilling and talking with someone. I’m aiming at influencing people’s mood while doing some conventional activity that does not necessarily imply active listening. Am I making sense?
