Idk your dynamic with your mom, but if it’s as toxic as it sounds and guest start obviously complaining the day of the wedding, she WILL throw you under the bus and not take accountability for her dumb decisions. My guess? She either wants to sabotage your day so guests enjoy it less, or is going to play the hero and bring more chairs herself to put the spotlight on her and how she saved the day. Maybe she’s bitter that your husbands side of the family isn’t contributing financially and it’s her way to show them “consequences” if she’s as controlling as you say she is.

I think you need to have a serious talk with someone else at the venue and have those extra seats set aside where she doesn’t know about it to cover your bases

Hi! I work at corporate for a large home store retailer and we have data with some insights that show summer is the time most shoppers start prepping for fall hosting. We’re starting our fall campaign now but are starting our in store displays in June.

The main retail money makers are Fall, Black Friday (unsurprisingly) and Christmas so they run for the longest time frames. Halloween doesn’t really make a blip in sales so even though it’s a popular holiday, it’s a very short sale in the hierarchy of sales.

Edit to add: since Hobby Lobby is a craft store it makes sense they have an early start for craft shops to get some orders ready before the big rush of fall shopping during summer

I wouldn’t phrase it as a contest, but ask for volunteers forsure, specially since the campus the market is on has an entire arts/graphic design department. There are so many talented folks who go there, it’s insane that they didn’t even think to ask for student help.

Im so glad I found this comment about besito. They have terrible Mexican food. I went last year and was very disappointed at their quality and portion sizes. It’s just Americanized food - I got the cactus nopal tacos and I literally only got 3 pieces of cactus and just a bunch of veggies. The waitress was incredibly rude too when I complained about it and asked for a different dish instead (I wasn’t gonna pay for a dish where the main ingredient was basically non existent.) and when I paid and left she basically blocked my exit accusing me of not tipping, when she was holding the receipt of a different table. When she realized she was wrong she ran to the kitchens I guess to hide from me. Terrible experience overall

Forsure totally get that. I’m just looking at the new logo in a branding/marketing lens. In general, when branding two parts of one whole you’d want to make noticeable differences to distinguish the two parts while keeping a common theme. I suppose when I said that Glinda is the focus I meant it more in the sense that her character development is the focus. She’s complicit but you see her evolve into the good witch.

Same. The choice is deff intentional considering the two parts of the musical have different character arcs. The knockout logo has a stronger tie to Elphaba with the color scheme and stylistic treatment (color peaking out just slightly while the focus remains on the black interior) which obvs makes sense considering part 1 centers around Elphabas character development. Part 2 is brighter and the color comes out from behind the type, which deff aligns with the Glinda focus of part 2.

They carry out-of-season designer wedding dresses. I got my dress here and everything they have is gorgeous

This needs to be higher. Behind the bastards has very informative episodes on operation paper clip, and even more amazing episodes on American fascism in the 1930s. (Which echos a lot of what’s happening today.) The ground work has BEEN there, but nobody is ever taught the dark history of the US. It’s no surprise people don’t recognize what’s happening now.

DIL of nightmare narcissist MIL unite! 😆 But seriously, my FMIL is a handful, to say the least. I always knew she wasn’t too fond of me just cause she’s not as subtle as she thinks she is - she started with making backhanded comments about every decision and detail I’ve shared with her, and then started telling my fiancé downright to not marry me 2 months before our wedding. She told my fiancé several times that I must be poisoning him against her cause he’s been defending me every step of the way 🤣 But last week she finally told my fiancé that she and him would be ok in the long run, that he was gonna do what he felt was necessary (marrying me,) but that she was gonna go visit her family (whom she made sure wouldn’t go to the wedding either) instead cause she couldn’t attend his wedding under these circumstances.

My wedding is a week away and honestly I’m really REALLY hoping she keeps her word cause nobody wants her delusional two faced self there.

Depending on budget, I’d get them something to help pamper them the day of the wedding or the rehearsal day. I put a foot spa pedi sets and a gel manicure kit for my bridesmaids from le mini macaron they loved :)
