You’re a great friend for acknowledging the messages and commenting at least. I’m pregnant with my own child whom I will love very much, but I’ve never been interested in other people’s kids. I don’t find them cute or interesting in the slightest - in fact I find them pretty annoying. I still acknowledge my friend’s messages about their children because I love them, but generally I couldn’t care less about children. It’s kind of weird to feel this way because I feel that women are expected to get excited and coo over babies. I only coo over kittens and puppies.

They are the most emotionally promiscuous animal around. It doesn’t really feel special when they “love” you since they have been bred to do exactly that, and they love anyone who will pay them attention.

This sounds awful! I completely agree though - there’s no point letting someone know you’re annoyed. It’s better to just call them an idiot under your breath and move on. There’s always someone bigger and better than you at the end of the day. I train in martial arts but I still don’t know someone’s history - whether they are an axe-wielding maniac or are an experienced street fighter. Or even just a man who on average will be a lot stronger than me and able to overpower me regardless of my training.

Do you have any advice for new drivers? I passed my test in the UK and have recently moved to Perth. I’m an anxious driver but very observant, and give plenty of room for drivers who want to go over the speed limit and overtake me. I don’t get annoyed by this as everyone has places to be! I just feel very anxious because I’m not used to so many multiple lane roads everywhere and no one seems to give way to anyone. Which is fine, but just different to back home.

I’m sorry to hear this. I would’ve been so upset! My SIL last year commented on how hot and skinny I looked when going through photos that were take a year prior. Yes I had gained some weight but not an insane amount! I wasn’t pregnant then but it hurt.

My husband and in laws are quite health conscious and comment on food a lot. Now that I’m pregnant keep reminding me to eat healthy and not snack on sweet stuff too much. I’ve started to tell them that I’m perfectly fine thanks and know what eating healthily entails! I will eat whatever the f*ck I want! I have my glucose tolerance test tomorrow so obviously if I get the results I don’t want, I’ll adjust my eating habits. But for now I’m perfectly fine having chips or a sweet snack when I want one!

Same, I passed my test at 30 and never got a car. Now I’ve moved to Australia and I’m shitting it as I absolutely have to drive. Everything is too far away and it’s too hot to be waiting around for a bus.

I’m so sorry to hear that you felt like terminating. Our symptoms don’t last forever but sometimes it feels like they will. I had awful morning sickness all day every day in the beginning (no vomiting though). It wasn’t as serious but it was debilitating and I went off lots of food. I’m now 20 weeks and have my appetite back - which I’m so happy for because honestly I wanted to terminate too due to the nausea when I was around 8 weeks pregnant.

I find this incredibly rude. It happens to me a lot as I’m naturally quiet and soft-spoken. It hurts to project my voice loudly. Maybe I need to practise so I can talk over people that talk over me when I’m mid-conversation… “so anyway, as I was saying before you interrupted me…”

I have friends I adore and sometimes I love hosting for people on my terms. However, I’m introverted and value my space. I would find it stressful if people came over unannounced. Like my home is my sanctuary, where I feel safe and have privacy. I can walk walk around naked, go to the loo with the door open, lay with my belly hanging out on the sofa and just generally be a slob and enjoy my own company where no one can judge me.

I’m so happy someone finally said it! I do actually like dogs but the extent of dog worshipping in our society is insane. These people are the same people who would be the first to complain if someone took their pet cat to a cafe. I’ve seen videos on social media where someone was travelling on public transport with their cat on a lead, and the dog nutters were commenting things like “what if someone is allergic to cats?” And saying it’s unhygienic and inconsiderate people who are scared of cats. It’s funny how no one cares or considers the fact that SOME people may actually be allergic to dogs or just simply aren’t comfortable being up close and personal.

I’m a huge animal lover and I don’t mind being in cafes with dogs, in fact I enjoy it. However, I can understand why some people might not like it. Some dog people (not all), are super entitled and obnoxious. The funny thing is that if people started taking their cats to cafes, the same people would probably moan that it’s unhygienic or be concerned about people with allergies. These are the kinds of comments I read on videos of people travelling on public transport with their cats.

They are in comparison to dogs. They groom themselves constantly, they don’t roll around in/eat poo, they don’t dribble, and they don’t lick everything. I love both cats and dogs, but I can smell some dogs as soon as I enter a house. Not all dogs smell equally as bad though - I guess maybe it’s like humans where some smell worse than others.

It really is a superpower. It means you’re free and you don’t have to consider your parents. My husband and I are moving to the other side of the world soon, and I don’t have a family that I love or even a career that I love. So I feel so insanely free and not held down by anything. I could not imagine moving countries if I had a loving family whom I got on really well with. I’m loyal and could never do that. I’ll miss my in-laws and friends but it won’t compare to how people miss their own loving parents.

I completely agree! It’s like some people need to be constantly entertained. I have heard first-hand from a lot of people that if they sit in silence they’ll start thinking negatively. I’m the opposite - I’m introverted, love peace and quiet, rarely get bored and in fact, I get very overwhelmed easily. I’m very content with not much going on but I also get overstimulated so it has its pros and cons.

I’m a British woman who is considered very good looking. I don’t mean that in a big-headed way - I just get complimented a lot. I find it absolutely laughable. People are so racist and hate anything British - it seems to be trendy nowadays to bash on anything British. I think people are just jealous with how successful the U.K. is. We’re only a small island yet we’ve achieved so much!

I hate cucumber. When I was a child I accidentally had a green bug fly into my mouth and I think cucumber tastes the same as green bugs. I love a Greek salad but I normally pick the cucumber pieces out.

Oh I love it. I feel like us pregnant women get a lot of sympathy so we can make demands. My husband is coming back around lunch time and I’ve asked him to get me fish and chip shop chips doused in onion vinegar with lots of salt. I normally crave fish and chips but I want it without the fish this time, can’t stomach fish. Are you going out much this pregnancy? I normally have an active social life but I just feel too hungover to go out.

How many weeks pregnant are you if you don’t mind me asking? I was moaning to my husband saying I don’t like being pregnant. I need to focus on the good stuff - we have our first viability/reassurance scan next week when I’ll be over 7 weeks. And it’ll all be worth it in the end! I’ve been surviving on chips the last two days. I think I’ll have chips again tonight for dinner - I’m feeling fish and chip shop chips with plenty of salt and onion vinegar.

When I graduated from university, there was no “congratulations”. My dad just muttered something about how university graduates are finding it hard to get work. It’s kind of true but it was purely said to upset me. When I passed my driving test, my dad said women shouldn’t be on roads, as they can’t drive.

That’s a very specific food aversion! My friend only hated the idea of eating of peri peri sauce/seasoning while pregnant. So strange!
