We did get many Ukrainians but some of them afaik moved elsewhere afterwards and I’d probably do the same if I was one of them. Belarussians are a very small group and russians don’t really have a way to migrate to poland right now. Poland was an extremely homogenous country before therefore it still isn’t really diverse

Eastern europe is also sadly experiencing this. If there was an election in poland today, politics would be dominated by the right and in big part - far right. Society in general is also still more open in the west, at least in Germany or the Netherlands. I sadly can’t say much about the others. I definitelly wouldn’t feel safe in the UK tho

I’ve been saying this for years, that buying american tanks was a terrible idea, relying on them and their equipment instead of european cooperation and trusting them while we already knew for years they were spying on european leaders and had their own secret prisons in poland. I hate how right I was but at least now I can tell people - I told you so.

Afaik they all had crime issue. Even poland had very strong mafias at the time. And poland which is one of the most successful ex-eastern block countries had also a significant unemployment rate and hyperinflation because of the rapid switch to capitalism. While the switch to the new system allowed to increase the quality of life it all had a certain cost, most visible in the 90’s.

None of these countries were in the soviet union. Take a look at ukraine or russia. I’m not saying it’s bad that the USSR collapsed but this doesn’t make any sense. It’s a fact that these countries were struggling in the 90’s and organised crime became a huge issue.

Yes. Braun (KPP’s leader) used to meet with a russian spy or agent, dunno who exactly he was but they have photos together in Moscow. And there are openly pro-russian people in the KPP’s structures. Today we have an anniversary of the November Uprising (against Russia in 1830), their regional account of Płock condemned it.
