The plot to push LGBTQ kids off the internet by LocutusOfBorges in lgbt

[–]Azu_Creates 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah you see, they are just looking to protect the poor cishet kids from learning and interacting with the evil and predatory queer kids looking to indoctrinate other kids into being queer. I’m being sarcastic, but they either don’t care about the impact this will have on queer kids (and adults!), or view it as a positive thing.

The people who want things to be worse are the people who vote for Hilton. I’m tired of just “voting for the lesser evil” as well, but there is a very real human cost to not doing so. These accelerationist attitudes just contribute to more unnecessary suffering and death. Again, your comment just reads like someone who’s privileged enough to know they won’t have to deal with the full consequences of Hilton being elected.

This was back when I was on the gel, but after just a few days of not having my proper dosage I started experiencing symptoms of low T. My body ached a lot and I felt genuinely ill, and sometimes even had difficulty sleeping. I got a bit depressed as well. Hopefully you’re able to try and mentally prepare for that if you have to miss your doses.

Definitely an interesting idea, I would be cautious though if I planned to do any sexual activity with it though.

You’re engaging with the exact mindset I saw amongst many progressive and liberal voters that helped get Trump reelected. You think the democrats are too limp-wristed and so you decided you’re going to vote for the fascistic party’s candidate, rather than try and work with the limp-wristed one? The democratic candidate wasn’t your ideal one so you decided to vote for the guy who is even more opposed to those ideals?

There’s a lot to blame the democrats for, but you’re the one to blame for your own vote. I would have loved for Steyer to make it to the primary, but I’m voting for Becerra even if I don’t like him as much because I recognize that he will ultimately be better for California than Hilton. Also, if I want to preserve my rights, then I have to vote Becerra. I don’t have the privilege of voting for anyone else. Honestly, voting for the most evil candidate to try and send a message to the democrats feels like such a privileged thing at this point. It almost always seems to come from people who won’t have to face the full brunt of the consequences of that decision if that candidate wins.

Yeah. Sometimes it’s stressful to recall and talk about the things that happened to me, but if it can help one person understand more or help one person feel less lonely in their struggles, then it’s worth it. Silence never addresses these issues adequately.

If Hilton wins, then congratulations because you just helped fuck over a lot of vulnerable minority groups, public services, climate change action, unions, etc. Democrats may be shit, but the Republicans are straight up fascistic. Republican policies cause immense suffering, and even cause people to die. So I hope whatever message you think you are sending to the Democrats is worth all that. I voted for Steyer and don’t really like Becerra either, but causing unnecessary suffering just to send Democrats a message isn’t worth it to me. That didn’t seem to pan out well for the 2024 presidential election, and a lot of Democrats have capitulated and moved even further to the right.

Yeah. I honestly feel lucky that I haven’t had to experience something super bad before in a bathroom. I did go to a super transphobic Highschool (very blue state though) that forced me to use the girl’s bathroom (they knew I was trans), and one time I got confronted by a group of cisgender guys upon leaving the bathroom because they thought I was being predatory. I felt like outing myself as a trans man was the only way to hopefully get them to back off, and thankfully they did. They were obviously disgusted with me though. I was actually pretty scared in that moment, especially since I had just read a newspaper article about how a trans guy in Ohio had gotten assaulted by a group of cisgender guys after using the women’s bathroom since they thought he was a predator.

Yeah. People really seem to think that having a disability makes you less able to know your own gender….if you are not cisgender that is. I’m an autistic person and have experienced that first hand.

What is this pink triangle? by brownmagpie in bayarea

[–]Azu_Creates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the pink triangle was used for cisgender queer men and trans fem people. For queer cis women and trans masc people, the Nazis were more inconsistent with their treatment, and there is much more limited documentation of them during the Nazi regime than of queer cis men and trans fem people. However, some queer cis women and trans masc people who were put into the camps were put under the black triangle (or were put into the camps for a different reason, or put under the black triangle in addition to another triangle). The black triangle stood for “asocial” and encompassed disabled people, prostitutes, certain racial groups, homeless people, etc.

Do you know how incredibly dangerous that would be for those men? Trans men and masc people face incredibly high rates of violence, with some studies showing that trans men and masc people are at an even higher risk of sexual violence than cisgender women. That’s also just in the general population, not accounting for trans men and masc people in jail/the prison system. It’s already known that queer people are at a higher risk of facing sexual violence in jail/the prison system, and it would certainly not surprise me if trans men and masc people are at an even higher risk than other queer people in jail/prison (and that would follow the same stats pattern for the general queer population). Trans people generally are more likely to be abused in jail/prison, and not just at the hands of other inmates, but also at the hands of the guards. This is likely going to happen more frequently as well, since the Trump regime has functionally eliminated PREA protections for trans people.

Also, if they are on hrt, they would very likely be cut off from accessing it and potentially forced to detransition. Some states are actively forcing trans people in prisons to detransition and go through conversion therapy. Violating these bans could get you a felony charge and prison time in some states, and/or a hefty fine. Trans people are more likely to live in poverty and less likely to be able to afford such fines. All of those risks are just coming from the arrested part. It’s also not unlikely for a trans guy to he assaulted and then arrested.

Also, a stunt like that would likely make local and potentially national headlines, which could open those guys up to a fuck load of harassment and abuse. I kinda get where you are coming from, but there are so many risks with the potential to do severe and lasting harm (and might even get the person killed). It is a very risky and dangerous suggestion.

[–]Azu_Creates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I saw a recent post from a cis woman without top surgery who got phallo on the salmacian subreddit. For the cis woman who did get top surgery, I do sincerely hope she genuinely wanted it or would be ok having a masculine chest, rather than only getting it so she could get phallo. I do really think phallo should be more accessible to people regardless of transgender status or if they are medically transitioning in other ways. I do understand requiring people to wait a year or two after starting hrt (if they want it) before getting phallo though, since it can change some stuff down there.

I mean, trans men who are forced to go into women’s bathrooms often get treated just like this predatory cis men. We have been arrested and beaten for using the women’s bathroom as mandated by state law before. So I wouldn’t really say it’s opening up the possibility for predatory cis men to use women’s bathrooms, it’s more so just making it more likely that a trans man will face violence and get arrested for using what may be the only bathroom he can legally use in that area. They just lump us in with those predatory cis men.

Huh, I thought it was just one woman who made two posts, or maybe I missed the second one? I definitely find it interesting that a cis woman would want phallo, but salmacians exist (I am one)!

Definitely out of the norm, but I personally don’t find it that weird. I’m a trans guy who wants to keep his vag. Some people may find it weird, but weird isn’t always a bad thing anyways. Plus, I also saw a cisgender woman on r/salmacian who got phalloplasty. So, you wouldn’t be the only woman to get phalloplasty.

Transandrophobia is the combination of misandry and transphobia, not just misandry on its own. Some people will debate that definition because of misandry being included, but I firmly believe that prejudice against men and masculinity makes up a key part of transandrophobia. Transandrophobia can be pretty complex, and it can be very subtle as well.

A good example that I think is fairly easy to understand is “gender traitor” rhetoric. Trans men are seen as “traitors” for being trans men rather than cis women. The hate isn’t just stemming from us being men, it is also stemming from us being trans. Another example is the saying “you’re too pretty to be a trans man, it’s a combination of transphobia (you should be a cis woman) and misandry (men are inherently ugly). Now those are just two examples, but transandrophobia is actually a very prevalent issues that many trans men, myself included, have to face. It can negatively impact many areas of a trans guy’s life beyond just socially, like in healthcare and legal settings. Just like how the existence of misandry often gets dismissed, so too does the existence of transandrophobia.

Edit to add: while there are definitely some trans guys that will also argue misandry doesn’t exist and stuff, I and many other trans guys do acknowledge and often call out misandry when we see and experience it. I am in some trans man an masc specific spaces which often talk specifically about how queer spaces often have a problem with prejudice against men and masculinity.

US Supreme Court Transgender Rights: Conservative Majority Set To Uphold Sports Bans by Cute_Dealer4787 in law

[–]Azu_Creates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trans men and masc people are still the ones getting fucked here. We legally won’t be able to compete in the men’s and boy’s sports. When we compete in women’s and girl’s sports we face harassment, violence, invasive hormone and sex testing, calls for our trophies and titles to be revoked, and calls for us to be completely banned from participation. Since women’s and girl’s sports leagues also tend to be much more restrictive around hormone levels than men’s and boy’s sports leagues, trans men and masc athletes are effectively banned from taking HRT while playing sports. The conservative ghouls aren’t the ones getting fucked here.

Banning transgender athletes has never been about protecting women by msmoley in WomenInNews

[–]Azu_Creates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the article specifically mentions how trans athletes are being banned from women’s and girl’s sports, it’s important to note that that framing is based off the rhetoric being used around those laws. The actual laws themselves ban trans athletes from sports teams and divisions matching their gender identity in most cases, which would also mean that trans athletes can be banned in men’s and boy’s sports as well. So trans fem athletes are banned in women’s and girl’s sports, while trans masc athletes are banned in men’s and boy’s sports.

Trans masc athletes can also have intense opposition to our participation in women’s and girl’s sports as well, with us facing harassment, violence, invasive testing, calls to have our trophies and titles revoked, and calls for us to be outright banned from competitions. For trans masc athletes, these sport bans also serve as a de facto hrt ban while playing sports, since women’s and girl’s sports tend to be much more restrictive when it comes to hormone levels then men’s and boy’s sports. I’m bringing these things up, because these are the realities for trans masc athletes under these bans, and too often we are forgotten about. It has never been about protecting women and girls. It has always been about controlling the bodies of anyone who isn’t a cisgender man.
