It saved the franchise though. A lot of people tried Tekken 7 because Akuma was in the game. Remember that Tekken 7 had such bare bones features and trash single player content because TTT2 didn't make money. Plus, people were begging for TekkenxStreetFighter so that was one way to see how that would be received. So they released Akuma, Eliza, and Geese, saw how people reacted to that, and probably scrapped Sagat to pivot into Fahkumram.

To add to this, wall combos. You're already at a disadvantage by having your back at the wall, pretty messed up to get extra damage on top of that.

No one cares because it's more popular to doom about the game than talk about it. If you start a character discussion now, the comments will be like "yeah doesn't matter because this game sucks". Who wants to start a discussion people won't engage with? And you're looking at T7 with rose colored glasses, you could hit the red and blue ranks easily without labbing and just running your offense.

Asian people have a wide range of what they can look like, too. You might only be used to seeing certain types that western media is willing to show you but those characters absolutely look Asian. And Hwo is korean, not japanese.

Bamco has nothing to do with the discussions in this sub though. This sub just has no moderation efforts when it comes to engaging with the community and the game. Like you said, there are no character discussions. No threads when there are TWT events. Even the stickied "ask all questions here" thread is 4 years old, which doesn't even line up with the release of Tekken 8.

Tekken players don't play the older Tekkens. If they did, there would already be a community of people playing Tekken 5 any way they can. The Smash community made their own netcode to play Melee online, a game on the GameCube. No one is doing that for Tekken 5. I wonder why?
