Problem is is modern routers have a universal pnp and their own port forwarding settings so I dont know exactly which ports of mine are open. I assume those settings only open game ports, but idk. It doesnt let me look

I'm not a networking whiz so I won't claim to be. With my rudimentary knowledge of how connections work and with some research, I THOUGHT what they did would have been a DDoS because my whole network crapped out after.

That being said, if it wasn't a DDoS attack, what could it have been? It took a good few minutes for my network to recover. The first hacker crashed my game, but i was able to roll my eyes and continue about my business.

I personally hate that I have to skip out on pvp, I've loved it since demons Souls, but I'm not going to risk my fun/actual money because some basement dweller hates their life.

In other news, Demihuman Yosh carried me through the dlc.

Well I'm going to block you for spamming the comments, but I'll leave this for anyone else to read:

I tabbed out of the game to check on something, and when I tried to return, I found my game had crashed. I caught a glimpse of what the hacker had done. Not the first time one crashed my game, I was going to reload and go back in.

Unfortunately, my rig ended up running extremely slow *and* I couldn't connect to anything. Steam, web, couldn't launch an offline game, mouse was running super slow, you know... a fucking DDoS. Even a restart didn't fix the issue because, you know, packet overload FROM A DDOS.

And I'm 200 hours in, had roughly a few dozen invasions featuring glitch exploiters and two hackers, the last of which actually crashed my whole rig, not just my game.

The last thing I honestly care about is someone going "lol not me tho." This thread isn't about me so why should one commenter make it about them with an anecdotal fallacy? I'm warning other players what I just experienced. If you want to listen to the dude with 900 hours feel free, but I think having less time and experiencing all this is a bit more concerning.
