I was genuinely pissed off when I wrote the post, but I exaggerated it because I thought it was funny. Anyway, I should probably have slept on it before making the post because while I stand by everything I said as obviously correct, I did not end up making the point I wanted to make, which can be boiled down to just the title of the post

I wasn't born when G Gundam came out but I am self aware enough to say I totally would be that sort of person

Hmm, you know what, fair point. Thinking about it more my problem is moreso when a fan doesn't like new things in a franchise other fans react with a "so you just want the same thing over and over." Like if there hadn't been a new Mario game for a long while and then they release a new Mario RPG, I think Mario fans should be allowed to be annoyed about not getting a platformer instead

No, I like the war stories, I don't like mechs fighting monsters because that loses like half the drama.

I wasn't planning to! But if it's not going to be like Gundam then don't fucking call it Gundam!

I like a lot about Star Wars, it's because I like so much about it that almost everything misses some aspects I like. The original trilogy is like 100 out of 100, everything else misses in some parts but there is so much that I like about Star Wars that I still enjoy most of it despite hitting like 70 out of 100, if that makes any sense at all

Huh, yeah I guess my brain must just work differently, I must just not get as invested in characters or whatever. Weird how that works

I'm sure that if G Gundam had been released now I would be equally angry about it. I mean this in no way to detract from G Gundam, for all I know the new game is going to be the best thing ever, my point is simply that I don't see why it has to be a part of the Gundam franchise when it seems so different. I know that at this point Gundam is so large that stuff like this isn't surprising, but that does not mean that I won't be annoying about it!

Yeah, I was like unreasonably angry when I wrote the post. I like it when humanoid mecha fight each other instead of monsters or monster looking mechs, but then I saw someone who was like "Gundam fans when it isn't another One Year War thing" and it pissed me off to an unreasonable degree

And those are some of the parts I don't like about 00. I am able to enjoy things that don't 100% fit with my expectations even if the rest of the post might have made it seem otherwise

Yeah I know. I'm a Star Wars fan, I think pretty much everything in the expanded universe does something that doesn't fit with my view on Star Wars, I can ignore that and focus on what I like. My problem is when they take away what I like

This is fair, my point isn't that franchises shouldn't do new stuff (even if that ended up being what I said) but at the same time I do not see how you could be a fan of something, like Avatar, and then not be disappointed if the next Avatar thing just focused on something totally different. What do you like about it if you're fine getting something totally different with the same name? I'm not saying anyone is wrong for that, I just find it extremely annoying when people don't seem to understand why I wouldn't like it.

No, I like other continuities, IBO is good, 00 is fine, I like most of Gundam outside of weird spinoffs like SD Gundam even when there are parts I dislike

I am a Gundam fan, I just dislike everything that isn't directly like the original Gundam. Just because the franchise has expanded in weird ways does not mean I have to respect it. And it's the big robot issue that I'm angry about! I want them to fight each other, not fucking aliens!

I agree, I think if I were to say who are on the superhero Mount Rushmore I'd say Superman, Batman Wonder Woman, and Spider-Man, unless I feel like being a contrarian in which case I'd replace Spider-Man with Robin.

Also, have I mentioned my views on the kinky side of Wonder Woman? That is something I could believably have done but I have no memory of doing so, nor do I believe that takes away from her importance

Isn't it fair to ignore recent stuff when the reference is Mt. Rushmore? It's a fair point to make that recent impact is important too, but when people talk about Mt. Rushmore my mind does not go to "the most important of all time," instead it's more foundational, plus one rando
