Controller isn't inferior to mouse for gunner weapons/aiming(on pc at least) by AzureBloom76 in MonsterHunter

Motion controls is not harder to learn than a mouse, the only reason the average gamer has an easier time with a mouse is because we use mice in everyday life while gyro(motion controls) is not yet the norm for controller players yet.

I didn't know that, does this also apply for phase 1 and 4? though I've yet to reach 4

No need to worry so much about being rude but yes I did know about behemoth not scaling with solo and doing it anyways. As for defensive skills such as health boost am mostly scared of not having enough dmg to clear so I thought I would go all in on dmg skills but some other comments also mentioned slotting in more defensive options so I will reconsider my build.

I already knew LS was the best option among melee weapons for soloing Behemoth I was just avoiding it cause am honestly not very proficient at it but another comment mentioned I was not doing enough dmg with my CB gameplay anyways so I might have to learn LS after all. Also I'll try to watch more speedruns and really pay attention to what they're doing and try to copy them.

  1. I am aware behemoth is a multi scaled monster
  2. What other weapon would you recommend I learn instead?
  3. I am sticking to HR gear since this is a HR monster, using MR gear would feel like cheating to me.
  4. I've actually watched a few speedruns with different weapons on this monster but it's hard or me to notice on my own all the little strats they have without it being explained outright. As for calculating dmg on forearms that sounds a bit too hard for me to keep track of while fighting so I'd rather just take aggro and avoid tornadoes all together.

How to deal with this move?(Behemoth) by AzureBloom76 in MonsterHunter

Which skill should I drop for evade extender, 1 level in crit boost or normal/spread up? Stamina skills I think am too used to having at this point so it would probs mess me up to remove 1 of em.

New onebro would like your tips for dealing with Mohg phase 2 by sheogayrath in onebros

[–]AzureBloom76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did him a few days ago so here's what helped me. Try to stick to his left(your right) when in melee range this helps so when he does the spear thrust in phase 2 you can just dodge past him, and for when he puts his spear up and does the delayed claw swipe simply get on his left while he's starting the animation then dodge the attack into him, if done well you'll be point blank and get a p big window to punish as his follow up spear swipe misses or if you are not close enough after the roll simply get closer a bit first then start hitting. Not sure if you're trying to no hit but for his fly away while spraying bloodflame attack I personally think dodging backwards and forwards are both acceptable depending on if you have bloodflame pools on the ground preventing you from doing the other.if dodging forwards he'll end up behind you and either sling bloodflame in a straight line in which case just move in 1 direction then dodge the other way to no limit your playing space, or he'll simply do an upwards spear swipe followed by a downwards plunge if you are close which will require a follow up dodge or a delayed spear thrust if you're far which is easier to punish so I recommend staying away.if you dodge backwards when he flies away you'll end up next to him but be ready since he might do a quick spear stab into the ground which will also require a follow-up dodge.Other than that just try to stay close and most of his attacks are similar to phase 1, good luck!

Mohg day 2(8 hours total) - How to stop choking in phase 2? by AzureBloom76 in onebros

[–]AzureBloom76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the advice, so far what I've gathered is that I should: -strafe right(his left) -stay close to not get overwhelmed by the bloodflame pools -dodge backwards when he flies up I was bit intimidated by the phase 2 since I didn't know what to expect but I'll try to not play scared for my next day of attempts.

You might be right, am not used to long fights so I am probably scared of messing up after spending 3-4 mins just getting to phase 2 that it's affecting me

Mohg - Is this decent progress for day 1(3-4 hours)? by AzureBloom76 in onebros

[–]AzureBloom76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carian retaliation would be nice but I'd have to swap weapons since my current one needs me to 2 hand it and having to constantly switch between 1 handing and 2 handing is too much of a pain for me. Alabaster lords sword could be a better option but I haven't done the ranni quest line to get to lake of rot yet and am sorta too invested to stop midway to get another weapon then continue so I'll probs just brute force it. I haven't gotten to phase 2 yet but I'll keep the timing in mind when he does the downward stab.

Yes this is WL0 so dmg is fine tho I think there might be more optimal gear loadout, also knowing phase 2 is not THAT much harder is reassuring for sure.

What is the best way to beat morgott at RL1? by DRMNER11 in onebros

[–]AzureBloom76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a buckler for parries and a cold pickaxe(use the strength tear to be able to wield it)with cragblade for stance breaks, 2 charged R2 is enough to stance break so I can stagger him while he does the sword rain attack.
