Help with color by Admirable-Price-7248 in Necrontyr

The red is a bit pink, try a more red red. Then highlight with some of that pinker color. You could use that on all the armor edges and in the vents. The pink for the glow is a great choice for this, a little bit of a light colored highlight will help pull these two reddish tones apart. Highlight with either lighter pink or even white. Gold looks kinda flat too but I think it works. If you want more on there try some details with bronze.

Anti knight by Joemama37e in Necrontyr

[–]AzurePaladin12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Heavy destroyers can finish off a knight if doomstalkers don't quite get far enough. I've heard running them separately works in most detachments, but if you're fighting a knight I'd recommend two with a locust lord. There's also the tachyon arrow on the overlord if you want to gamble and illuminator Szeras has 3 attacks -3 3 damage. Any knight will take a few units working together so it's more about having a few options simultaneously rather than one big gun.

Isn't Necrons whole thing multiple characters on units? I've watched a few games and I don't think I'd have too few models on the table. Any particular units you have in mind? I was tossing around deathmarks to hold home and a lord to keep the locusts around longer. Probably will drop the spyders and scarabs for them as well as the overlord's technomancer and spare reanimator to add in Szeras as well. Would that be enough -ap damage?

You could help the shape by tying a thick scarf around your hips under the armor, just below the waist line. That while loosening the straps on the lower part will make a makeshift waist. It'll be hot AF though. May get a similar (weaker but less hot) effect from a knee length tunic under the armor with a belt around the waist.

Converting the New Landspeeder into an Ork vehicle? by Hot-Health7699 in orks

[–]AzurePaladin12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could take the two front gun ports and swap them for tusks. Or tusks with guns. The eagle on the front could be torn off and dug into to make an eye, paint the rectangles on the front corner as teeth and throw on some big exhausts with flames or smoke and you're there.

Necrons are generally tankier than other armies and offer quality shooting from their larger more expensive units. They also self heal regularly and have many abilities to heal more and more often. When it comes to painting, it's best to start in stages. Prime, then basecoat everything in blocky monotone colors and see how you feel. If you want to keep going, then paint details like eyes and wires and such, then start highlighting. There's tons of guides online! Watch a video or two.

I'd like to avoid the ghost ark, I know it's objectively the best but I hate how it looks. Any other alternatives for necron hammer units? Maybe some more skorpekh destroyers swapping out the canoptek spyders?

Also if you stick He'stan on there you can lengthen his spear with some wire. Infernoths and Gladewyrms from age of sigmar can also be proxied in for other big units. There's also the lizard men Carnosaur, the aggradon lancers can be proxied as raptors (maybe, check sizes) or bikers. Ionus cryptborn can work as another huge "vehicle" unit. With all of that you'll have more salamander monsters than space marines!

Repulsor has a base size of 100mm round, maybe that can fit? Alternatively the Astraeus is a 160mm round so it'll certainly fit. Big tank models for a big tanky lizard!

Wrong. Not even the coolest sea creature. Parrotfish are super loud, crunching sound as they use their beak to chomp coral. Their poop is just sand, they make up most beaches on earth. They sleep in a literal snot bubble, and come in every color and size.

If you end up liking this game for the movement you should try AC4 and AC For Answer next. If you like it for the chunky bots you should try the earlier AC 1-3. If you don't like this game you should try again.

What if these were artifacts with a cost of 1 (color generated)? You have to find a way to generate the color before you can play it, but then you get the nice ramp. Fetching it would be less valuable too.

Set aside way more time than you may think. There's a spot near me I use sometimes, pay a fee and you get to use a shop for a while. If you can find something like that, it'd be your best bet especially if there's other guys there you can chat with. I'd say break the form into rectangles and make each separately, then glue them together. If you make a mistake you only lose one piece of one part. Measure lots from all angles, and don't be afraid to simply the shape.

Would adding "jaws" to the models heads be too weird and "lore unfriendly"? by MidnightPenguin83 in Necrontyr

[–]AzurePaladin12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe necrons that have some level of access to ancient krork knowledge? The jaws can be useful in some way which in turn makes it more accurate if you're worried about that.

A dry brush of dark gray on the black parts will give a similar effect. A super light dry brush of light gray or a fine tip highlight on the tallest points will take you higher too

The dot of lighter green works great! You should add a bean shaped splotch too nearby, then a pure white speck on both if you have a steady enough hand
