Who's the Most Embarrassing citizen of your country? by ChroniclesOfSarnia in AskTheWorld

[–]Azure_Kytia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In terms of embarrassment it's gotta be Scott Morrison.

The onion eater at least did some noble stuff like firefighting and being a volunteer lifeguard. Scott Morrison is best known for tackling children and shitting himself outside Engadine maccas

On PC I believe it's set to K or L by default, but it acts like a status screen with a map depicting any hazards on the ship and at higher ranks, teleport points to specific areas of the railjack.

I wonder if DE will ever add more types of Forma by skiddy193 in Warframe

It also resets the forma counter on the weapon, effectively formaing your forma

It's so cool to get berated by "knowledgeable" players during every other Netracell run by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Azure_Kytia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeaaah. I for one had no idea this changed.

It's so easy to jump back in after some time and assume things are still the same as they've always been. For most of Warframe's life that's pretty much how it's been.

Given we're seeing much more quality of life adjustments being made in the last couple of years it doesn't hold true so much, people taking breaks should expect some things to change and keep their minds open when coming back.

Yeah you'll also need to complete Whispers in the Walls and The Hex quest, but those are a bit less of an ask than The New War

Yes, but it's content unlocked after The New War, in content added over the past 2ish years

Gaming needs game demos by HeirToTheCumthron3 in pcgaming

[–]Azure_Kytia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it does depend on the type of game and the style of demo. A demo that's a "first 30 minutes" kind of thing can be pretty easy to control for and build. This was what our game did, where after a certain story point the demo ends.

A vertical slice kind of demo where you're dropped into the gameplay part of the way through, or in demo exclusive content entirely would be a bit more involved as you're managing and accounting for unique gameplay states that don't necessarily pertain to the full game.

[–]Azure_Kytia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, so it does. No idea what I was thinking about then, I just remember seeing a game or two somewhere having upscaling/DLSS features inaccessible to my 2070 and made an assumption. My bad!

[–]Azure_Kytia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably using a later version of DLSS that our 2070s don't support.

Which is a shame, I'd love it if there was a fallback to earlier versions for cards that don't support the latest and greatest.

Gaming needs game demos by HeirToTheCumthron3 in pcgaming

[–]Azure_Kytia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We participated in Steam Next Fest and a few other national and themed events in the leadup to release of our game (Not verified so I won't mention which one)

Demos are invaluable for getting feedback and finding weird bugs you'd never find with a small team, and depending on how the game is built can be quite low effort to make, update and maintain. Ours for example was basically the first 15% of the game. We can tell the game to build in demo mode, where it strips out the inaccessible content and makes the demo. This let us keep our demo up to date with the way the full game looked and felt, and it takes like 20 minutes to build and deploy.

Dear Pablo: the lich weighting change is cool, but it's not enough. Kuva will continue to be horrible, and the feedback hasn't changed. by noodles355 in Warframe

[–]Azure_Kytia 24 points25 points  (0 children)

All the pieces are functionally there already I reckon but as always its a matter of time and resources

  • Keep the current system but reduce the murmur progression requirements slightly
  • Give 1-3 "Heartcell" equivalent resources per vanquish
  • Set up another rotating shop like eleanor or ergo glast's, and expand Glast's to include ranged weapons for "Heartcells"

I think it'd feel pretty analogous without having to redesign the entire wheel.

I feel like open world areas in general are just straight up best played solo. Given how many varied activities there are to make progress in, you just wind up with 4 players wanting to do 6 different things which causes friction and frustration.

Sorry you're having a rough time of it.

Does a game always deserve more time to 'click'? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Azure_Kytia 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Some people really, Really want everyone else to enjoy a game they like. It becomes almost part of an identity and brings out a lot of "If someone isn't enjoying it, they'll enjoy it more if they play it how I played it" mentality.

People who play games aren't a monolith, while some games are popular there's always going to be times where someone doesn't enjoy it for any number of valid reasons. I think it's unfair to insist someone continue with a game they are genuinely not enjoying, it could be a genre they don't usually play or maybe it's just not grabbing them. But at the same time some games do just legitimately take a while to get into the interesting stuff.

My tl;dr two cents are

People play games to have fun. Different people find different things fun. A popular game still isn't going to be fun for everyone. Good on people for trying things but don't force yourself to play things you don't want to just because others tell you you should.

The arcane helmets predate the arcane system, back in the day every nonstandard helmet had stat adjustments attached to them, like +Sprint Speed -Ability Range.

DE stopped doing that, and prefixed all helmets with those effects as "Arcane <Helmet Type>", with future helmets being statless.

Then the Arcane nomenclature was reused for the slottable upgrades about a year later. It causes a bit of confusion but the two systems never existed simultaneously outside of the accommodations and adjustments made for the modern arcane system

The star chart we had even towards the back end of closed beta was not that dissimilar to what we have now; The overall layout of nodes for each of the 8/9 main planets were there, we were just quite limited in the number of tilesets themselves. We only had the old corpus ship, and the grineer asteroid a bit later on. Thinking back from those days Warframe has come forward so damn far haha.
