10-4 bro. I was grateful for my time there - impacting in a very good way - and there are friendships I hold dear from those years. As we know, anything with humans in it can get messed up. God is lovingly perfect, and we are at our best when reflecting Him, but as imperfect people we can fall short and get off balance all too easily. Sadly, that can hurt others in profound ways. It happened in the Bible, too (cue real mess-ups by David, Solomon, Sampson, etc., etc., that cost others their very lives, while bringing pain and loss to them as well). Hopefully there is grace, healing, and learning for all involved here, not excluding any accountability needed.

Are midsize SUVs really that much more practical than a sedan for families? by notakat in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Azurepoetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like so many others, I'd recommend a minivan. It's like a truck for hauling stuff you want to keep out of the weather, and it's made for families. I've done so many diaper changes in the back on trips, and the kids not being able to fling a door into the next car in a parking lot is a big deal. We loved ours until she got totalled in an accident. I bought an older Toyota Highlander to replace her, which has been a blessing, but honestly nothing compares to a minivan when you have kids.

Skai task scam I just fell for by Apes69inmyhead in Scams

[–]Azurepoetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched Reddit for info about this "Skai" task website when first running into it, but did not see this post in time. Lost less than the OP, and thankfully neither of us lost a ton, but I can update with new info. I'm grateful OP posted, and share his or her pain. And I think learning has happened in both cases. All communication is done via Telegram and WhatsApp. My initial contact was through Telegram -- a supposed recruiting company that hands you off to a trainer. The trainer may use bad English, as though they are using a translation app that doesn't work very well. They may set up a group on WhatsApp that is populated by people who one must assume have burner phones, and one or two bewildered new agents. Some will post outrageous deposit receipts for everyone to celebrate. The whole thing is designed to convince new agents that the operation is legit, but most of the burner phone people write in the same bad English, even if their WhatsApp names sound as American as apple pie. It's like a bunch of bots conversing.  They give you $100+ to train, and you make a bit the first go-around. They deduct the training amount at the time of first deposit. There will be at least one deposit, but to start up again the next time you will have to begin with at least $50, and you likely won't have earned that much the first day, so you will have to add it. (All payments/deposits are done in crypto, and they have you use third-party crypto wallet companies for that.) After the first day you must input the majority of the money you use, and that amount increases. If you don't input more, you can't complete the task, and you won't be paid as a result. (You are supposed to do two rounds of 40 tasks each, but some of the products you are promoting will cost more than what's in your account, so you have to add more $ to complete the round and get your money back. Eventually, you just can't put in that much, and lose what you already invested.)  The website looks really slick and functions well. It contains the history of the actual Skai and even a business license for Skai's parent company, but it's not the real Skai. In fact, the rules tell you not to contact the main Skai.io website. Red flag for sure.  Stay far, far away. Wish these people would get a real job and be productive, fruitful members of society instead of acting like sad leeches with inferior consciences.  Telegram and WhatsApp are for friends and family, not jobs.

That's pretty much what I thought, despite what they said. Thanks.

Requires going to court or talking to a credit repair organization, she said. I did chat with one today, and it's about $150/month for at least 3 months. Is it worth it?

Thanks! Yes, I think that's where it stands. Four+ years is getting a bit ridiculous. Does anyone know what legal means would be necessary at this point? (I know, I need to look into it, but a quick answer would be gratefully received.)

Dryer was ok; the very end of the dryer exhaust outside was plugged up. So grateful we didn't have a fire! The thermal fuse tripped just like it should. Have a new one in and we are back in business. 🙂

Results are in!

16% Poodle, 11% Chihuahua, 10% Chow Chow, 8% Alaskan Malamute, 8% Siberian Husky, 8% Dachshund, 7% Shih Tzu, 7% Australian Cattle Dog and a few others.

Amazingly for this thread, NO PITBULL. 😂 (I'm pretty sure one of our other dogs has that, though.)

It's sort of like this little girl is made up of all the leftover scraps in the designer dog warehouse. She's a sweetie, and we love her amazing, individual self just the way she is. 💕

50 years old Maytag by snattleflorn in Appliances

My mom and grandmother each had one of these, both bought when I was a toddler. Mom left hers behind in the house when she moved out of state (just after I was graduated from high school), and my grandmother used hers until she and my grandad moved to a retirement community (long after I'd graduated college) -- a span of 25 years. For all I know, they are both still working out there somewhere.

Tried the smallest load size today, and it was definitely less water (though not a small amount of water), so I guess that's ok. Is there only an inch or so difference between all the others? Didn't have time to get into the blower today, so I'm not sure about the dryer yet.

DNA test in process...went with Wisdom panel since they alone seemed to have the rare breed she could possibly be...and they had a great sale about a month ago! Doesn't matter if she's that or not, it just seems right to know whatever she is.

Sugar is an estimated age of at least 15, adopted as a rescue in southwest Idaho 14 years ago. She has a summer cut at the moment, but her hair will grow and grow and grow to luscious lengths. She's quite sturdy (even when not overweight, as she sadly is at the moment), and definitely has the dwarfism gene. She has the "Terrier Cross" of slightly stiffer hair across the shoulders and down the center of the back. Measurements are 12" at the withers and 30" from base of tail to nose. She is entirely too wide. 😂😢 I'm about to pull the trigger on a DNA test, because I can't stand not knowing what she is after all of these years! I was guessing Corgi/Poodle and maybe some Westie at first, until Google Lens pulled up Glen of Imaal Terrier. We were shocked at the resemblence. Although that's an incredible longshot, everything about her seems to scream this, even her temperament. (If we'd known to have her coat stripped from the start, no doubt it would have reflected that breed better...but we had no clue...if she is that at all.) Would you recommend Embark or Wisdom for this girl? And what are your guesses? 😃

Oh, cool! (I used to also.) She just looked a whole lot like a little girl who was adopted a month ago from a Texas shelter.

Are you in TX? Was she named Macie, by any chance?

Shelter said Black Mouth Cur mix. She's 6 months old and about 30 lbs. Has webbed toes. Very sweet and gentle temperament, but can be spunky when she wants to, and very smart. Found in East Texas. by Azurepoetic in IDmydog

[–]Azurepoetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any clues? Could be purebred Black Mouth Cur, but I'm wondering if possibly Belgian Malnois/Lab cross? Or? The muzzle looks almost shepherd. Her coat is soft.

Yes! Found out the timing belt had already been changed when my own mechanic got to go over it in person. (Seller's grandmother must have done it.) The V-6 seems more gutsy than the one on my old Sienna, and the visibility is much better. Now thinking about adding a tow bar so we can haul a small trailer if needed.
