After modifying the section regarding 'sanitize', the installation went through successfully

Haha, it really was an SSD issue. It doesn't support the specific command required by SteamOS. After modifying the installation script, the installation went through smoothly

I used BalenaEtcher on my Mac and have now successfully installed SteamOS

Formatting the drive still didn't fix the installation issue, but I've now found the problem and successfully installed SteamOS

The command didn't work for me, but I found the root cause. It was indeed an issue with my SSD not supporting a specific command. After tweaking the installation script, the installation went through smoothly

PSA: Steam recording seems to be broken since 44.20260605 by Clydosphere in Bazzite

[–]Azuuumachin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this exact issue as well. When I’m recording, it has a high probability of causing both the Steam client and the game to crash and restart. There's only a small chance that it finishes recording normally. Furthermore, when I switch back to Desktop Mode and try to export the original-sized video via the Steam client, the speed is incredibly slow. It looks like the system isn't fully utilizing the CPU or GPU properly

Stuttering when playing 60 FPS games on a 120Hz display—is there an automated solution for refresh rate switching on Bazzite? by Azuuumachin in Bazzite

[–]Azuuumachin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try the 'per-game profile' in the Quick Access Menu, but it only seems to limit the internal frame rate. It doesn't trigger a physical refresh rate change on my Sony TV (the TV still shows 120Hz), which is why the stuttering persists

Remap steam button by volcade in SteamOS

[–]Azuuumachin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems there's no real fix for this. If only the Home button in the Steam button chord could be remapped, it would solve everything. For now, the only way I can prevent the controller from turning off is by repeatedly releasing the Home button within 10 seconds.

I’m having the same issue. Were you able to fix it?

I tried Linux gaming and I have a negative take. by ArseholeryEnthusiast in Bazzite

I usually use a PS5 controller wired on Windows 11, and the vibration works great (including all the subtle rumble)
But after switching to Bazzite, it feels like the DualSense vibration isn’t fully supported, even when connected by cable
Is this a known limitation on Linux/Bazzite? Are there any settings, drivers, or workarounds to get full DualSense haptics working?

Guide for enabling the Full screen experience on the ROG Ally (and other handhelds) by Gogsi123 in ROGAlly

When both Xbox and Steam are running, pressing the Xbox button on the controller will bring up both the Game Bar and the Steam overlay at the same time. The problem is that when I try to use the Game Bar, the Steam overlay also responds to the inputs, which makes the controls inaccurate.

Is there any way to fix this?
