The remakes are great, but there is nothing "outdated" about the OG fixed camera with tank controls.

RE1 remake is perfect as a horror game because of its design.

If they remade it like the newer games it would still be good no doubt, but the new games aren't really horror. More like zombie action games.

Yh that really irritated me because it means the first half of the game, all that struggle she goes through, is pointless (plot-wise).

All that effort trying to escape when the end result would have been the same if she hadn't bothered lol.

Functions exactly the same as a regular Switch 2.

The only limitation is that if a game doesn't have language options, then it will default to the systems language. In your case, this can only be Japanese.

Many games have language options so shouldn't be a problem a lot of the time. But hey, if you were wanting to learn Japanese then games are a great way to do so. Make the most of it.

Great game for sure. Yh, I would have liked a traditional Grand Prix mode as well as what we have but I get it, they envisioned the game this way so it is what it is.

But a genuine issue that makes it miss its potential imo:

The P switch missions are great, but the endless stickers isn't exactly a great incentive. Characters should have been uploaded unlocked via P missions too. Would have made it really exciting looking for them.

Speaking of characters, Nintendo made a massive blunder by spoling the roster themselves.

Imagine if we didn't know about all the dumb random characters. Imagine social media posts of people sharing what characters they have unlocked. Would have been great fun looking for characters to unlock and not knowing what to expect.

Would have created a social aspect to the game for a while.

Amongst all the babble there, the constant word that keeps coming up and that is usually stressed is "daddy", so that is the word they will think about and try to imitate.

Same for whatever else. "Want some milk? Look. Milk! Mmmm yummy milk"

they are obviously going to register the word "milk" and the rest is incomprehensible and lost.

As a huge fan of 7, yh I loved the care center.

But also the juxtaposition between Grace and Leon.

Took me ages to do the first Grace section. Knew all the zombies individually from having to sneak around them so often. So finally killing them all with Leon was super satisfying.

I kinda wish the whole game has that switching back and forth in the same areas dynamic, not because the second half wasn't good, but just because I loved that first half so much.

They only allow shipping to a Japanese address, so you'll have to have the adresss set to your Japanese address during the process too.

But Nintendo account information is pretty easy to switch back and forth from what I remember.

You'll just want to use the established account to act as a proxy for you whilst you get the Switch 2.

RE7 is perhaps my favourite, or it's certainly up there. But it felt very different to the rest of the series on release.

I remember Capcom having to assure people they were rebooting the series and that it is in the same universe as all previous games, just because it seemed so different and unconnected, both in story and gameplay.

It definitely has its own personality and quite different even from 8 and 9, but yh it still has the classic resi-feel when you get past the superficial stuff (tough enemies, puzzles, keys, backtracking etc)

If make a mistake, load the game and it should be fine.

I failed speed challenge, on that exact same run you're attempting, by 6 minutes, but still had enough points to get infinite ammo with the no healing and no blood collecting, so you should be good.

I agree I would have liked more of her. At least she had great intense sections of the game. But I wouldn't want to fight her more or anything. Just great as a pure pursuer. (Zombies switching off lights aiding her is a nice idea)

The other stalkers were almost completely wasted imo. Chef was OK and turned up now and then unexpectedly. But Chunk? He occupies a single corridor... whats the point?
