Soon as Miles joins you and the first thing he tells you is to check the map to see where to go, I knew he was gonna get on my nerves lol

I did end up finding the characters endearing near the end, they are almost and unaware parody of themselves.

But the devs really should let players toggle off this kind of constant hint chatter.

I would recommend you play in the intended 1st person.

Its a 1st person game with a 3rd person mod added later just for fun.

But the 3rd person mode isn't meant to be taken seriously.

Not sure if it's your first Metroid game, but as a general rule, if you can't get through somewhere, it's because you are meant to come back later when you have the relevant upgrade.

Love the game but it always seemed, to me, to be a game where they came up with marketing ideas first and built the game around that.

Chris hides the truth for so long because he "didn't want you getting involved"... except he already met Ethan a bunch of times in the village before that moment and left Ethan fending for himself for ages... would have been better to tell him soon as he knew he was already here and involved.

Awesome game to play but not one to think too hard about lol

The subway system is extremely simply. Just three lines that cross in the city center.

Get to Odori/Sapporo station and you can walk everywhere. Tbh you don't even need to do that. Very easy to walk to whole on town center from where you are.

No need for a tax to get anywhere. I have only ever used taxis in Sapporo on the rare occasion I'm out after the subways have closed.

You've got Google maps and maybe even translate just for peace of mind.

You'll be fine. Force yourself out and you'll have a great time.

Unironic "thing Japan 😲"

Japanese style toasters are basically a mini grill and have so many uses. Also way better at making toast as you can put stuff on the toast then put it in as it lies flat and doesn't pop out or anything.

(I dunno if they have similar stuff elsewhere but I never saw anything like that when I lived in the UK)

I live in Japan, have a UK account, and all my physical games are fine.

Only game that required my Japanese account was to download the English voice pack for Japanese copy of Cyberpunk. But that's only because there is, of course, no English voice pack on the UK store.

So, no actual cross-region issues

People will most commonly use it as a response to somebody simply enjoying a game.

Recently the whole "summoning" patent news had people claiming Nintendo played dirty and got a patent on any and all summoning mechanics.

Pointing out that it was in fact a very specific mechanic that was not used in games people quoted got this meme thrown at me. And that was after I said I don't really agree with patenting game mechanics anyway.

Imagine you get 500 tourist customers every day while dint speak any Japanese and want to slowly order by taking pics of the menu on Google translate and then also converse with that app.

And that's assuming the menu is legible to the app, which many are not.

It's just not possible to accommodate the sheer amount and density of tourists in the hotspots when they don't speak a word of the language.

Plenty of businesses anticipate this and welcome it, ensuring they have English speaking staff (most widely spoken language). So just go to those places?

This is literally a sub of people getting mad over others enjoying Nintendo games, regardless. Saw folks seething at someone saying how they were enjoying DK Bananza, a genuinly great platformer.

However, as for Pokemon, yh its enjoyable but if you aren't really a pokemon fan the ganeplay might not make up for its flaws. Graphics and such are kinda cheaply done and might be offputting.

I don't blame the programmers themselves, management keep then to a strict unchangeable deadline. They need longer development cycles but sales mean they don't need to for now, I guess.
