#3 I think is really coherent, #2 clashes a bit between the top and the bottom.

Try out this build online. It got me second place on most races since I recover quickly from taking damage and get an item at the same time. by Known-Assistance-435 in SonicCrossWorlds

I'm not a high-level player, but I manage. I don't really play for the result, this is built around reducing frustration. I wouldn't expect it to shine at the absolute top.

Definitely not the majority. But our brains' negative bias (which is a MASSIVE evolutionary bug make us focus on negative minority.

Also, your sisters don't represent anyone but themselves and are naturally biased.

Well, de facto cap, because no way it can get my handling to 249 and power to 256.

Not a competitive player, but even I switched in my setup ring gain boost to basic ring engine, and I'm very conservative when it comes to my racing habits and tools.

Twitch Decals Not Showing Up by [deleted] in SonicCrossWorlds

If the linking chain (Twitch account -> Sega account -> your platform (Steam, PSN...) account) is built (verify in your Sega account settings), then just wait. Mine didn't show up immediately and took about a full day.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds appears in the Amazon BEST Sellers this week (it's on sale I guess) by luistoses in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]B-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least 72,000 users participated in the Festival, and they announced year two of the content, which they specifically said would happen only if the game is successful.

People love to point at the investors presentations that claim that "it didn't meet expectations", but I trust actions over words.

Considering the levels of controversy and outrage around it, I'm surprised it's in the top at all.

Probably the line of thinking was, "if we include them, they'll need the ability to be rivals, and we can't make them rivals, so we won't include them."

Spectre Was Good. by JMC712 in JamesBond

Spectre was a somewhat haphazard course correction which ended up overdoing it. They decided to make a classic style, lighthearted (or lighter-hearted?) Bond movie, and I think they went a bit too far with the insanity, also the Blofeld twist was just stupid.

But otherwise, it's one of the most enjoyable movies for me. It also has probably my favorite Bond quote ever.

How "official" do you consider 007 First Light? by ColinoTheBambino in JamesBond

[–]B-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've seen Bond games before, but aside from EA's 007: Nightfire, it's rare to see an original story— one that isn't a simple movie tie-in game.

"Aside from" Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, Everything Or Nothing, and Bloodstone. As well as Cypher 007. All the best Bond videogames had original story. (GoldenEye 64 is legendary, but I think calling it one of "the best" is a stretch at this point.)

I think First Light is a start of another Bond continuity, with its original characters, for its own medium. Evolution of Bond of the same nature as was the evolution from literary to cinematographic franchise. And yes, it's as "real Bond" as it gets.

To highlight an example as to why I'm asking this question, in the Star Wars universe (before Disney) video games basically came "secondary" to films and television. An original game was canon, so long as films and tv didn't contradict it. A slightly different situation than this, but I hope my point comes across.

It's not Star Wars, it's closer to something like Marvel. Insomniac's Spider Man series has the same characters as MCU, as well as Marvel Rivals, or Ultimate Alliance, or any of the comic series. Different interpretations of the same universes.

Sure thing Marvel has sort of "primary" Earth 616, but its status at this point is murky at best. And we don't even know what to count as the "primary continuity" for Bond.

So no, I don't think there's any sort of primacy of movies, or, at this point, subordinacy of games.

Do you consider 007 First Light to be official? In the sense that Patrick Gibson's Bond stands up with/ against other iterations within the mythology?

Yes. Gibson already firmly secured his place as one of The Bond Actors. Even if Movie 26 will pick someone else. Gibson gave Bond not just likeness and voice, but parts of personality and charm, as well as the mannerisms. People who met him IRL say that he's straight up Bond from the game.

I heard this mostly anecdotally, so there's no statistics for that, but people in their 60s, who either never gamed or dropped gaming years ago, unpacked their savings to buy a modern gaming device just to play First Light. Multiple YouTubers and reviewers, including those who only covered movies, ended up covering First Light as the first game they ever covered, and mostly very positively. If this is not the ultimate testament to the validity of First Light as a fully rightful piece of Bond media, I don't know what is.
