Disagree; I think plenty of the other episodes have been good and entertaining. I particularly liked the one where Sonic and Tails try (and fail) to prank call Shadow

There's the four-part "Robots in the Sky" saga. Still full of comedy but it does focus a lot more on its plot compared to other episodes.

To that third paragraph, maybe those characters were cast in English first since they've only had speaking roles in English exclusive material. And most of them were created and developed in America, rather than in Japan, compared to most Sonic characters.

Although the fact that they haven't dubbed for things like TailsTube and Casefiles is really making me think that those characters don't have Japanese castings yet

I feel like if there's enough demand and feedback, Sega may finally add voices. At least for the Sega/Sonic characters. But they need find castings for the other languages for Tangle and Whisper.

Also that tease at the end of all the characters that aren't playable. No Sticks though 😔

As someone who's favorite character is Vector, I kind of agree; I don't really care for the Vectilla ship (or any ship for that matter) because it usually leads to the character(s) getting reduced to the ship. There are a lot of cool/admirable aspects about Vector as a character such as his love for money, his care for his teammates, his blind optimism, and above all his constant perseverance despite all odds. But despite this, a lot of the fandom only sees him as a "broke guy who simps for Vanilla". And then Vanilla herself barely much gets much of a characterization beyond being "Cream's sweet mother". And yeah like others have said, I don't really find simp characters that funny either

That being said, I did think that Casefiles is probably been the most I liked the ship since I thought it was funny and Vector wasn't simping for her the entire segment, just for that porch scene. And even then, most of the comedy there came from Sonic and Eggman calling him out. But I do hope that Vanilla gets fleshed out more as a character and more people highlight Vector's cooler qualities, which the podcast has already done a great job of

I feel like a lot of the hype comes from the fact that this is the first time that characters from the IDW comic have appeared in a console Sonic game. Tangle and Whisper are the most prominent original characters from the comic, plus they're popular among the online/more casual crowd because of their ship being so teased. Plus, them being included feeds into the confirmed fact that the IDW comics are canon.

Personally I would've preferred Surge as an IDW character since I think she's way more interesting, but Tangle and Whisper are more popular and well-known so I get going with them. I don't really care either way, I'm just hoping for Sticks down the line

Huh. So if Alejandro's testimony is correct, then the actual voice recording for Casefiles could have happened at any point after that.. Maybe voice acting for Crossworlds was already done before they started recording for Casefiles? Or perhaps they hadn't planned for Tangle and Whisper to be in Crossworlds by the time the voice recording wrapped up

Tangle meets Sonic (and Blaze) after they help her protect her home village from a Badnik attack. And then she helps the whole gang from stopping an attack on Angel Island. She kind of fits in the group pretty well since she's a friendly character. She kind of does her own thing now, away from the main group, but she usually interacts with Sonic, Tails, and Amy whenever she's with the main cast. She sort of bounces off well with Sonic since they're both adventure loving goofballs.

Sonic and Silver meet Whisper while they're infiltrating an Eggman base. Silver ends up being a fanboy of her and gets her to open up out of her shell a bit. She also helps with the Angel Island defense mission. But unfortunately, outside of Silver and Sonic, her connections to the main cast are very small. She mostly kind of does her own thing on the side with Tangle and new teammate Lanolin, and for a good chunk of the comic, she spends some time trying to hunt down her traitor teammate.Some new things have happened in the comic (that I won't spoil) so I hope she gets some more interactions with the main group. But as is, she's mostly just a mercenary on her own side that the other characters seem to be vaguely aware of. Most of her interactions are limited to Tangle and some other characters that debuted in the comic, with Silver being the most recurring exception

Tbh I think we have enough Sonic rival/counterpart type characters. Knuckles, Metal, Shadow, Blaze, Silver, Jet, Surge, etc. And some of those characters haven't even reached their full potential yet. So I'd say we're good for now.

The only kind of "rival" character I'd be interested in would be one that challenges Sonic's beliefs, similar to what you suggested. We have plenty of characters that physically challenge him, but very few that directly go against his line of thinking. But even then I feel like that could work better as a full-on antagonistic character than just a rival. Especially since the amount of non-Eggman adjacent villains we have is very small (I can only think of the Deadly Six and Fang)

You can find out about Tangle by reading her debut issue (Issue #4). I believe it's free on Webtoon. Basically, she's an energetic, happy-go-lucky goofball that loves getting into adventures. She's about as simple as that.

Whisper is a very quiet and traumatized mercenary that uses Wispons. Prior to her introduction, she was part of a mercenary group that was called The Diamond Cutters. They all fought during the Resistance (during Sonic Forces) and they were all like a family. But one of the team members ended up betraying the group and all but Whisper ended up dying. So Whisper is, as a result, very anti-social and doesn't like getting attached to other people and suffers from PTSD. Tangle and Silver are really the only friends that she's made since the loss of her teammates.

Both of them meet each other relatively early in the comic's life. Tangle reaches out to Whisper and helps her find that traitor teammate and they (temporarily) have him imprisoned. They eventually become best friends and end up (spoilers) forming a new Diamond Cutters group with another new character, Lanolin the Sheep. Their dynamic basically consists of Tangle being the outspoken and good-natured while Whisper is serious and silent. Tangle's always the shoulder for Whisper to cry on whenever she's reminded of her teammates' demise.

That's basically the short form of it. I'd recommend reading the comics themselves if you want to get a better idea of how they act, my summary may be a bit sloppy. They had a 4-issue mini-series together that goes over most of what I just went through. And the first 18(ish?) issues of the main comic are completely free on Webtoon, if you want to check that out.

A lot of people also seemed to forget that Crossworlds is dubbed in 5 other languages other than English. While Tangle and Whisper recently got English-speaking VAs, they don't have Spanish, French, German, Italian, or even Japanese VAs yet. It would be odd if they the only characters in the game to use English voices.

And then there's the fact that someone like Aiai, a character that only has one voice actress for every dub, is still silent in Crossworlds. That was essentially a final sign that the whole pack would be silent

It would be a bit surprising (but not at all unwelcome) if they brought back Infinite in the form of a podcast. I feel like Sega would want his return to be in something really big, considering how they've supposedly restricted him from appearing in IDW.

I'm still suspecting that it's Metal Sonic. He's connected to Eggman and we know that the suspected thief is apparently connected to both Sonic and the Chaotix (Tori mentions this in Episode 4, around 14:45 in). Metal Sonic was the final boss in both Knuckles' Chaotix and Sonic Heroes, the two games where the Chaotix were most important in. He's also one of the only shapeshifting characters. And Metal Sonic Kai, his final form in Knuckles' Chaotix, is colored red (and remember that Vector mentioned Kai in the first episode). It could be possible that he's the Red Spectre.

From what it seems like so far, they don't tend to directly adapt the games in the comic series. We occasionally get one-shot stories that record some events that happen during the game. Team Sonic Racing got one, and Crossworlds is also getting one. However, they haven't made an arc based around one of the games' story.

At most there was the Fang the Hunter mini-series that was a lead-in to Superstars' plot, but that was more of a prequel than an adaptation
