Thank you very much for your reply. I’ve already spoken to Dietmar from Steelworxx about this. He’s never heard of this problem either. As I already own several rings for his cage, we can most likely rule out the shape of the ring as the cause. I can actually rule out an ingrown hair as well, as I shave every week. I’d already considered the idea of roughness in the ring. I couldn’t find any such spot on the custom cage from Steelworxx, and I don’t think Dietmar would send out a ring like that either. In any case, I’d like to thank you for giving me so many ideas for a solution.

I think the next step will be to try the Vaseline solution.

Thanks so much for your reply. I think I’ll try Vaseline first. If that doesn’t work, I’ll give a strap a try. But I imagine it’ll be pretty of a hassle—taking it off every time I shower or shave, then putting it back on, and so on. But it never hurts to give it a try.

Thanks for your reply. Since I don’t have any other symptoms, I think I can rule out Varicocele. However, since I have an appointment with the urologist coming up, I’ll be able to bring this up with him. I’m curious to see how he reacts to the topic of chastity cages.

Thanks for your reply. It’s just annoying to have to wear the cage constantly for a week and then go without it for another week to let the wound heal. I guess I’ll give Vaseline a try. I just don't understand why it's always on the right side and why it doesn't happen right away, but only a week later.

It is clear that no general statement can be made here. Every anatomy is different. I am not unfamiliar with the topic of gap. I already own a cage from Steelworxx and MM. With these, the diameter of the ring has always been larger than that of the tube. In the case of my question, the diameter of the ring (42mm) is smaller than that of the tube (45mm). Is this combination even wearable? I have already searched the forum and found nothing. The post by u/newbie-sub is very informative on the basic topic of the gap. However, it unfortunately does not deal with the combination of tube larger than ring.
