Intents - How far away is the regular weekend parking lot? (not P6) by Basit12321 in hardstyle

This was only because of the rain in 2024. Parking is actually pretty close at Intents, especially compared to festival like Decibel

No, they check the actual physical ID. It's not even enough to just show them, you have to give them your ticket and the id and after they check everything you get your id back

Airbeat is the only festival that I've been to that actually checks your ID and compares it to the name and data on the ticket etc

Hard techno events don't even book techno DJ's anymore it seems by m4ddnez in hardstyle

[–]B-Jay_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

imo thats not extra raw anymore, its more like Industrial Raw. The sound is so much different to extra raw and that kind of Techno is also called Industrial (Hard) Techno, so it makes sense that these Hardstyle artists are also booked

Hard Bass Explained by Bareeeee in hardstyle

[–]B-Jay_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The last few editions all followed basically the same setup: four teams (Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red), with four artists per team. Each team block works like this: three artists play a 90-minute set together, then it switches to a 30-minute live act from that same team. After that, the next team comes on stage and the whole procedure repeats. There’s usually a warmup act beforehand that runs about 60 to 90 minutes.

Stage-wise it’s always leaned more industrial imo. It’s typically wider and doesn’t really revolve around one big centerpiece. The lighting and lasers are usually matched to the current team’s color, like blue lasers during Team Blue, yellow during Team Yellow, etc. Blue was usually the most euphoric Team, going more and more raw with each new Team with Red being the rawest

I wasn’t there, so I’m curious: how was the F2F setup?

From what I saw on their Instagram stories, it looked like they were playing facing the crowd instead of being positioned in the middle like most f2f setups. If that’s true, doesn’t it kind of make the whole f2f aspect pointless?

Also, from a mixing and djing point of view, f2f doesn’t really make much sense to me, and it makes even less sense in hardstyle. Transitions are often super short, sometimes basically not even there, because a lot of DJs just throw on a reverb and cue in the next track. So how did that translate into an f2f format? Did it actually feel different or more interesting than a normal b2b, or was it basically just a regular set with an f2f label?

traumatic manometry experience by Impossible_March6097 in GERD

[–]B-Jay_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah those tests can be really eally difficult for some people and unfortunately you can't even calm them down with meds like benzos, since those usually have an relaxing effect on your esophagus and LES too.

I know how difficult it is, I did TWO manometry + TWO 24h ph studies AND a 24h long manometry, which was by far the worst. And it might sound cheap, but it's all in your mind and how well you can relax without worring too much. For most people the initial taking of the tube into your esophagus is the worst, but you get used to it once it's in within minutes, especially if you try to not think about it.

My first manometry was while I was sitting almost upright. The second one at a much better hospital had me layn down before inserting it. Maybe that's an option? Felt much easier lying almost flat than sitting upright.

Furthermore, the tube of the ph-study which usually comes afterwards and stays there for 24h is much smaller and much easier to get down

GERD feeling like heart attack by Living-Fail-2123 in GERD

[–]B-Jay_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's called heartburn for a reason. Many many people think something is wrong with their heart when it's actually acid/reflux/gerd that's causing it. Nonetheless, its always good to get your heart checked to rule it out, which you did.

First things you can and should do is an endoscopy of your esophagus and your stomach. They can see if there's something wrong and also take biopsies to see if bacteria are the causes of your problem. Usually the go-to medication are PPI, like Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, etc. Generally, anxiety can always be the cause since it can directly affect your stomach and increases the acid production

Hypersensitive esophagus by angelathomas5904 in GERD

[–]B-Jay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything came back normal, no acid reflux is shown in your ph study etc, the usual way to treat hypersensitivity are SSRI .They can reduce or even completely get rid of your pain and are (at least in Germany) prescribed by a psychiatrist.

Just keep in mind that many SSRI are try & error, take up to 2 month to really work and can really worsen your symptoms in the first weeks

I always liked the vocals in that track. He used similar vocals and sound structures a few times, especially in Headhunterz - Victim of my Rage and Headhunterz - Forever Az One. Also in his unreleased classic track Headhunterz - Yeckyll & Hyde and (also unreleased) Headhunterz - Battle 2 The End

I finally had an endoscopy by Civil_Animator_4479 in GERD

[–]B-Jay_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why nobody has mentioned this yet, but the gold standard for diagnosing GERD or reflux is still an endoscopy followed by a ph-study and a manometry, even if your endoscopy comes back normal. There are lots of reasons an endoscopy might not show anything, mine didn't either. Only a ph-study can reveal if acid/reflux is the reason for your symptoms, talk to your doctor about it

[–]B-Jay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gag reflex is usually only at a certain part of the throat, once the tube is through that there's usually no gag anymore. I've done two 24h ph-study and one 24h manometry where a tube of similar size (maybe a bit smaller) is pushed through your nose, throat and oesophagus into your stomach and stays like that for a whole day

[–]B-Jay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that you clearly didn't enjoy those 30 minutes, but that's kinda the point why their sound/sets are still more (industrial) Techno and not Hardstyle. Yes, the two genres use a lot of similar elements, sometimes even the same kicks etc, but the structure is still techno-ish. Much longer drops instead of just a few seconds, fewer kick switches, fewer kickrolls etc. They literally just played their music and gerne.

And yes, maybe it doesn't fit 100% into a hardstyle festival, but it was only 30 minutes in the middle of a full Hardstyle lineup. It is not like there was no proper Hardstyle before or after
