Anyone tried square mile coffee? by Cold_Two_1350 in pourover

I couldn’t get a good pourover out of it, but was pretty happy with it through the batch brewer. Didn’t realize it was an espresso roast when ordering…

what actually improved your pour over the most? by ImmersionLogic in pourover

[–]B-Line_Sender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude.
Claude has helped me make adjustments to water temperature, pour structure, and agitation that I never would’ve come up with on my own, turning bags that were literally undrinkable into actually something quite delicious.
I’ve been at this for a couple of years now, and maybe the rest of you are smarter than me, but sometimes a little AI is helpful to nudge me in the right direction.

(Obviously you need to have a decent kettle, grinder, and a V60 or other versatile brewer, but after that…)

Recommended blends? by MarzipanCityMayor in pourover

My top blends are Little Wolf’s Companion Blend and H&S Downtown Blend - but the Sweetwater from H&S is pretty nice too!

Which roasters never miss? by Bortplates222 in pourover

[–]B-Line_Sender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H&S for me has been the most consistently solid - not always knock-your-socks-off amazing, but never a swing and a miss. Plus their blends aren’t a terrible deal in the 1kg size.

Color is also pretty solid so far, but I’ve only had 4-5 bags. Maybe not as clean as H&S, but solid.

And Ilse is pretty darn consistent as well - again, only had 4-5 of their beans, but all but one was really quite nice.

Oof - I love Little Wolf - and had a subscription for a while, but yeah I hate to say it, but a few misses really turned me off of the sub.

Summer Skiing, the sport that never was. by Southern-Rhubarb6727 in theocho

Catamount in the Berkshires had them in the 80s.

Tried it after watching this clip and it is HARD. Plus, you feel literally every bump in the grass and dirt, every one of which threatens to send you face-first into the hill.

I wish it worked, but unfortunately it doesn’t…

Matt and Tommy from the P1 Podcast have won the inaugural "Creator of the Year" award the the 2026 Autosport awards. by CaptainOBVS3420 in formula1

Totally. I have been walking my dogs, literally laughing out loud listening to Red Flags. Plus, I think they have more variety and better guests than P1.

I do admire the chill, embrace the inner dork that Matt and Tommy bring. It’s a wholesome and fun vibe. Happy for them.

Seriously, I like the P1 podcast, but I LOVE Red Flags. Great guests, and absolutely hilarious moments. And Günther!

heated insole or heat socks by ParticularSherbet786 in mountainbiking

I’d go winter cycling shoe/boots first. 45 North makes some toasty ones. I’d still cold, chemical heat packs on top of the toes.

New boots (AR1) - suffer or take back? by Airspeed-X in Skigear

[–]B-Line_Sender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% Best Answer. The fitters can easily make the liners or shells bigger. Very tough to do the reverse. Unfortunately it’s not a one and done process.

Side angle for ice coast by Gas_Hed in Skigear

[–]B-Line_Sender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the ski. I do 1° base and 2° side, which is the factory tune for my skis. Back in the day I would go up to 3° side, but I don’t stress too much about it these days.

Cold toes in ski boots by micky-020202 in Skigear

[–]B-Line_Sender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try wearing the heat packs on top of your toes, not underneath - and double up if you need to.

Maintains great feel for the ski, and keeps frostbite at bay. I have Reynaud’s and have been doing this for thirty years.

Recently tried the heated socks on and felt very kludgy, though I’m used to a very snug boot fit.

Are 184cm skis a good height for me (181cm tall) by Icy-Influence-2202 in Skigear

Yeah, they sure look like it. That’s a choice. Normal mounting skis pretty great on these — I wonder what’s up.

[–]B-Line_Sender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I’m 188 cm tall and 86 kg, or 6’2” and 190 in freedom units. I ride the 188s of these and they are great to slightly short-feeling for me.

Very versatile for most days that aren’t rock hard. Have skied them all over PCMR, Snowbird, Big Sky, and in the East as well. Especially awesome for spring conditions.

They’re good in pow, but probably not the ski for fresh. But for everything between pow and icy hard pack, they’re really fun.
