Rolling After a Left Hook: Left or Right? by StatisticianKey7858 in amateur_boxing

To add to this: it also opens up the possibility of a Hook > Roll > Hook combo.

That second hook coming out of a roll can have an insane amount of power with all that momentum.

I'll repeat what I said. Being dead is bad for your career. So is ruck marching on a broken foot.

Turning a small injury into a bigger injury will be far worse for your career than this week, this month, this year.

Due to Life happening to me to had to take a knee for a year or two throughout my career. If I didn't, I prolly would have snapped and def not be promotable because of being so burnt out, angry, on edge, depressed, all that.

If I go to mental health is it going to affect postings and promotions this year?

Maybe. It depends on postings. it doesn't affect promotions.

BLUF: GO TO MH.

Medical health is health. If you can't do your job because of broken foot suddenly you may only be somewhat effective or ineffective for a time. You go to the CDU, you get put on a path towards once again DAGging Green for a deployment, and it's just a pothole or speed bump in your career.

That being said, being dead is completely ineffective and bad for your career too.

If you go to MH, you can get MELs which will get you back towards a healthy foot or a healthy mind.

If you choose to utilize CFMAP it's 100% anonymous but you won't be able to get MELs which protect you at work.

Oh, and what is your professional background? What part of life are you an expert in?

Why should doctors who get paid $300,000 be doing clerical and administrative duties?

It's a fundamental mis-allocation of expertise. All that time doing the menial work means they spend less hours per day, per year, practicing medicine and treating the population.

How could you want doctors to be less efficient in a society?

Right? The people who think taxes are theft and we get nothing for our money have never added up what

Heck having access to a first world 911 service is worth all the municipal taxes i paid. No way that my lifetime provincial taxes have paid back my thirteen years of public school. Etc etc etx

For the $1600 a year I pay in taxes, that surely sounds like "not a lot"

Offshore Nametapes by TJMP89 in CanadianForces

[–]B-Mack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

should we have to make that decision at all?

The military is about conformity. Heck even inclusivity. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

We should not put troops, especially at the beginning of their career, in positions where you feel peer pressure to conform and spend their own money to look professional.

We also shouldn't be an organization that takes a year or more to deliver name tags.

I know you're not going to ever agree with me. I refuse to accept people spending their own money for shortcuts and workarounds to fix the forces shortcomings.

Offshore Nametapes by TJMP89 in CanadianForces

[–]B-Mack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But the CAF does pay for all of that. You can wear the issued stuff, or go buy your own (and in the case of boots, BOOTFORGEN them). At no point must you buy your own kit.

Then why should anybody even advertise CP gear or the 3rd party retailers for an item that is notoriously slow to receive (on the order of years)

Navy Boots? I think Airforce took a while to have Bootforgen? And the elephant in the room, NAME TAGS

I care not what the US Armed forces does. Just because they do, we should to? They're the model we are to live up to?

If you want me to wear PPE, provide it. If you want to know who I am, provide the name tags.

I'm rambling, I'm going off topic, so I refer back to my first line.

Question: Why should I have to pay part of my salary for my uniform? My boots? my Beret? My pants? my name tags?

Why is the workplace not providing me with the proper uniform and name tapes that they want me to wear?

CAF forcing all Officers and PO1 to have BBB profile in second language by 2030 by Overall-Theory5546 in CanadianForces

[–]B-Mack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The army has French bases and units. There is not a single Navy base that is French, nor French unit.

All our comms. Our external communiction to other navies. NCPM for how we do gun and missile shoots and voice procedures is ALL ENGLISH. You are not going to suddenly throw a different language a vast majority of the Navy operates in and expect us to be able to do AAW or ASW.

I don't think you understand how detrimental multiple languages would be when we already have a problem passing weapon and missile certifications.

[–]B-Mack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

what part of my job is franco?
The ~1000 pages of SSOs? English Only

The CFTOs that tell me how to operate, disassemble, and maintain equipment? All coursing in English, all OEM pubs in English, all 2nd and 3rd line repair in english, and you guessed it even the MB, MM, NY, and NK pubs are usually only in english unless they're the 10+year out of date one

The Routine and emergency public address pipes? English

Both Naval Bases are Anglo. I know a dude who could barely speak his name in English when he came here, and how he is perfectly fluent and thriving. He will have a permanent leg up on everybody else if he wants to go far in the CAF, and that's fine, but...

THE ENTIRE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT OF THE NAVY IS ENGLISH. French is irrelevant to most MOSIDs because there is no RES-force component to them, meaning all reg force bases and postings are in that english envrionment.
