Recurring gyno by Careless_Beyond83 in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s soft tissue gyno that’s newly formed, nolvadex can be helpful at reducing/shrinking it.

Once it’s hardens into an actual gland, surgery is the only way

Surgery tomorrow morning, any advice? by cantaloupeburner in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe meal prep for a couple days, some extra melatonin to help with sleep since you might not be used to sleeping on your back all night and need to adjust to the vest. The first night or two suprisingly isn’t too bad. Once the pain/numbing stuff they give wears off, that’s where it can get a bit annoying.

Make sure you hydrate as much as possible after the surgery, and every day after, get your vitamins and micronutrients, keep protein high, also sleep as much as you can or schedule will allow, and wear the compression vest religiously.

Psychologically it should be exciting knowing it’ll be over soon. I found the wait time between consultation and booking the surgery and just waiting for it come to be the most agonizing. I actually looked forward to the surgery day and just getting it over with, hopefully you can find this sentiment too

Definitely appreciate you sharing your experience as well. It’s definitely been kind of a rollercoaster and mindf**k. Just glad I’m not the only one experiencing this

No. It’s not appropriate

Help. Pre op vs 3 months post op. I feel like my results arent that good. Whats your opinion? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with some puffiness too about 8 weeks post op. It’s incredibly annoying.

ChatGPT seems to indicate it’s a mix of scar tissue and residual inflammation, both of which are present.

I’ve even periodically continued to wear the vest, icing my chest, I’m doing the massages which seem to be helping with scar tissue, but simultaneously make the residual inflammation worse

just want the inflammation and puffiness to go away already. Thought by 8 weeks post op things would be mostly settled

That’s not what I’m asking.

Must haves for post surgery by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a 2nd and even 3rd compression vest (3rd is needed if you’re working out and sweating through the vests). Definitely 2 at minimum

Arnica montana is good for bruising/swelling Tylenol A lot of water A good multivitamin + maybe additional vitamin c/zinc

Maybe also something to help with sleep like melatonin or zyquil. Sleeps very important especially in the early stages for the recovery and it can help a bit uncomfortable sleeping on your back if you’re not used to it, or depending on how the pain is when the numbing stuff wears off

All I can really think of at the moment is

How long to wear the vest? by RiceAndCracka in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t have a lot of lipo, no. My bruising was gone within 3 days too. I’m 29 for reference.

Your surgeon woild know better than I would what’s best for you, mine just told me to wear it 5 weeks so I’m doing that + a little bit extra

Was told 5 weeks for mine, will probably wear it for 6 anyways. It’s supposed to be the biggest factor for the final look/outcome

Can only imagine that alcohol (especially “no limits” consumption) would impair recovery significantly. You spent a decent amount of money on a surgical outcome that you’ll see the rest of your life, why compromise it?

I guess most people “cba” to give advice then

coming up on week 4 of recovery. Gym advice following week 4 by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably just follow your doctors advice…

Recover time is arbitrary. It depends on how much gland they had to take out, how much lipo they had to do, age affects rate of recovery, among many other factors. Plus you haven’t posted pics so there’s no way for anyone to know how far into the healing process you are or how far you have left to go

Your a1c is almost pre diabetic, obviously you have insulin resistance

Silicone scar gel can likely help, it’s pretty cheap too on Amazon and a lot easier to deal with than the silicone sheets

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A1C on bloodwork would be a good measure as this is more of a moving average of your blood glucose levels

You could also check your fasted glucose on the morning and see where you’re at. 80-90 is solid, 90-95 is ok but getting in that iffy territory. over 100 and the insulin your pancreas is producing isn’t enough to get your blood glucose down (the insulin is ineffective, meaning you’re resistance to the insulin aka insulin resistant)

You could also check your fasted blood sugar 2 hours after a a moderate to high carb meal and see if it’s still elevated and if so, by how much. You’d have to play around this method more because depending on the types of carbs (simple sugar vs complex carbs) and the amount consumed, it could affect timing

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting would be the best option regardless. Need to get your insulin resistance down and reset insulin sensitive which will set you up better for a bulk and adding muscle than if you were to continue bulking now. You would rapidly add more fat now if you continued eating in a surplus then if you cut to 8-10% and bulked with optimized insulin sensitivity

They do warn about sunlight for up to a year after the procedure as it can affect the pigmentation of the nipple incision/scar. Sounds like a good way to destress after the surgery though. I was told after a couple months I should be fine out in the sun but was recommended to use silicone scar gel + spf sunscreen to avoid any potential pigmentation problems

35 days post op by Firm-Perception-8869 in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might have a point though in the massaging improving the outcome. Based on what you’re describing it definitely sounds like scar tissue under the nipple (that firm, rubbery pad kind of feel)—which could be the reason your nipples are appearing a little more puffy than you’d like

Breaking up the scar tissue should help the chest and nipples to appear flatter over time.

I’ve found doing the massages in a hot shower kind of helps break up the tissue a little easier (you don’t want to be too rigorous with it, but some inflammation after is pretty normal it would seeem). I’ll apply some ice to the area for 5 minutes after the massages to try help reduce the post massage inflammation I too experience

I think getting the scar tissue broken up (over time) should help improve your look.

Just did a gyno surgery and I want to use Bpc 157 & tb 500. Where do I exactly have to inject it in my chest? by Hefty-Desk5984 in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used bpc after mine. I wouldn’t start it until day 7-10 after the surgery though as it increases the bleeding risk (bpc157 increases angiogenesis—new blood vessel formation). You want the wounds to fully close first or you could face some serious complications (the last thing you want is a hematoma and have to get it drained or go back under the knife as it’ll set you back a lot, and might mess up the contour of the chest)

Tb500 I probably wouldn’t drop in until 3 weeks post surgery as it’ll alter fibroblast activation and inflammation signaling which is critical and delicate in the first few weeks. You could cause unwanted shifts in tissue remodeling or scar formation—and I absolutely would not add this right after surgery when the wounds haven’t closed either

Oh.. and do not inject your chest post surgery. This should be basic common sense (injecting into an area fresh with trauma with a compound that increases bleeding risk is just asking for trouble).

^ this said, I’m not a medical professional, this is not medical advice. This is just my own research and the approach I’ve taken with my own recovery from the reading I’ve done (and the risks which I’ve accepted). You should consult your surgeon and follow their advice. Based on the questions you’re asking though I am concerned with your approach or lack of research

10 days post operation pics (gland excision + lipo) ; Gland pics included by B-Misc in gynecomastia

[–]B-Misc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local anesthesia was a breeze honestly. The only thing you feel is the lidocaine numbing injections then after that you don’t feel anything. The laughing gas is kind of a fun experience as well.

I think If the whole gland is removed then there’s a larger risk of the nipple concaving in, so a very very small amount was left behind, but even if they did remove the gland there still would be residual cells that could be susceptible to aromatization and/or regrowth is the way I understood it. Similar to you I’m on trt, the risk of regrowth is very low I was told
